Reason for this visit

East Asia and North America (dominated by the United States) are home to the world‘s two largest cryptocurrency exchange markets, with the trading volume making up nearly half of that in the global crypto market. In contrast with many exchanges in East Asia, the crypto platforms in the US are more strictly regulated. In the meantime, Coinbase, the world’s top one cryptocurrency exchange, is based in the US. In an attempt to help investors to get a more comprehensive understanding of the exchanges in the US, WikiBit survey team decides to go to the country for on-site visits to local companies.

On-site visit

In this issue, the survey team went to the US to visit cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp as planned according to its regulatory address that 27 Union Square West, Suite 205 New York, NY 10003 United States.

The investigators came to 27 Union Square West in New York, the most populous city in the United States on October 10, 2023, and located a modern commercial building at the corner of Union Square West and 16th Street, adjacent to the Union Square Part. The building featuring a façade consisting of aluminum, glass, and blue, green panels boasts a fabulous location in a bustling street.

After accessing the building for further investigation, the survey personnel spotted many vacant suites, and then arrived at the 2nd floor with ease as there was no security. From the floor directory, it could be seen that three companies were on the floor, and suite 205 was occupied by “Bitstamp”. At the entrance of unit 205 with its door closed, the company name of “Bitstamp” could be seen.

Through an on-site investigation, it is confirmed that the company has a presence at the location.

Conclusion

The survey team went to the US to visit cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp, and found the companys name at its regulatory address. This suggests that the company has a physical business office at the place. Meanwhile, investors are advised to make a judicious decision following a comprehensive consideration.
