Reason for this visit

As one of the largest markets around the world, Japan is the first country putting cryptocurrency under regulation, which attracts plenty of cryptocurrency exchanges. In order to help investors to get a more comprehensive understanding of the country's cryptocurrency exchanges, the survey team go to Japan for on-site visits to local exchanges.

On-site visit

In this issue, the investigation team went to Tokyo, Japan to visit the cryptocurrency exchange SBI VC Trade (licensee: TaoTao Co., Ltd.) as planned according to its regulatory address that 5-1-9 Shinbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

The survey team arrived at the destination on February 27, 2023, where Ginsen Shinbashi No. 2 Building was situated, but didn’t spot the company’s business office from the company directory of the building, nor did the team get any information about SBI VC Trade after communicating with the related staff here.

Conclusion

The survey personnel went to Tokyo, Japan to visit the cryptocurrency exchange SBI VC Trade as scheduled, but didn’t find the company’s business office at its regulatory address, which indicates that the company doesn’t have a physical presence here. So investors are advised to make a sensible choice of the exchange based on a comprehensive consideration.
