Reason for this visit

With the promulgation of the Korean Financial Special Act, it means the legality of virtual assets have been officially recognized in the Korea, and cryptocurrency exchanges will also be officially regarded as financial institutions. To help investors get a more comprehensive view of the exchanges in this country, the survey team will go to South Korea for on-site visits.

On-site visit

This time the survey team visited the cryptocurrency exchange BITSONIC in South Korea, with specific address at Level-4, EWR Building 171, Saimdang-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea.   

The team arrived at the EWR building at 171 Seoul, Korea. The building is located in the Gangnam district of Seoul, and the street where it is located is very busy and relatively upscale.

The name of the cryptocurrency exchange BITSONIC can be clearly seen on the floor directory, which is written as 비트 소닉 in Korean, and it shows the 4th floor is the exchange’s office.

The team went to the 4th floor and the logo and name of cryptocurrency exchange BITSONIC could be seen at the entrance of the office. As it was a weekend when the survey was done, there was no one working in the office. According to the team’s observation, it is estimated that there were 50 cubicles.

Conclusion

The survey team visited the cryptocurrency exchange BITSONIC in Seoul, South Korea, and found the office scale is quite large, with approximately 50 cubicles, and the office is located in the bustling Gangnam district of Seoul. That is all for this session of Field Survey.
