Indian state Maharashtra eyes tokenized power grid funding

Indias Maharashtra state has begun preparing policies to tokenize up to 50% of selected electricity transmission assets to finance new power lines and solar energy storage facilities. SummaryMaharashtra may tokenize 40% to 50% of selected transmission lines.Token holders could receive part of the revenue generated by Maharashtra Transco.Proceeds could finance new transmission capacity and solar power storage centers. The proposed DELTA Act would cover blockchain-based property tokenization across the state. Maharashtra considers tokens tied to power revenue Praveen Pardeshi, chief economic adviser to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and CEO of the Maharashtra Institution for Transformation, outlined the plan at The Box Launch, an invitation-only event held at the World Trade Center in Mumbai. Real estate tokenization company RealX and MST Blockchain hosted the event, where Pardeshi described how Maharashtra could use digital tokens to raise money against revenue-producing state assets without selling the assets outright. Under one possible structure, the state could tokenize 40% to 50% of an electricity transmission line. Investors who purchase the tokens would then receive a share of the income earned by Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company, commonly known as Maharashtra Transco. Anchorage Digital adds institutional access to Frgmnts fUSD stablecoin

Anchorage Digital has partnered with stablecoin protocol Frgmnt to give institutional clients access to its fUSD and sfUSD tokens through Anchorages custody platform. The integration will allow institutions to hold, mint, redeem, stake and unstake fUSD without setting up a separate custody arrangement, according to a Friday announcement. Frgmnt is a stablecoin protocol built on Base that issues fUSD against USDC, with the backing deployed across onchain lending markets. Users can stake fUSD for sfUSD to earn rewards generated by the protocols underlying strategies. The protocol has about $100,000 in total value locked, according to DeFiLlama data, while operating under a capped, invite-only beta. Frgmnt plans to open public access and raise its deposit cap on Sept. 15. Frgmnt said sfUSD was generating 13.32% APR as of Sept. 4, though yields vary with conditions in the underlying lending markets.Source: frgmnt Anchorage Digital Bank is a US federally chartered crypto bank regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and operates as part of the broader Anchorage Digital platform, which was valued at $4.2 billion in February following a $100 million investment from Tether. Canadian Dollar slides as Oil tumbles, US CPI fails to lift USD

USD/CAD rises 0.27% on Friday and trades around 1.3870 at the time of writing, after reaching a daily high of 1.3882 in the immediate reaction to the release of United States (US) inflation data. The pair is on track for a third consecutive day of gains, supported by the US Dollars (USD) initial reaction to the data and a sharp decline in Oil prices that weighs on the Canadian Dollar (CAD). The US Consumer Price Index (CPI) rises 3.4% YoY in August, unchanged from the previous month and in line with market expectations, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on Friday. On a monthly basis, prices increase 0.4%, following a rise of just 0.1% previously. The underlying figures provide a slightly firmer signal. The Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy components, rises 0.3% MoM, exceeding the 0.2% forecast. On an annual basis, however, core inflation eases to 2.4% from 2.5% in July. The US Dollar briefly strengthened following the release as investors reacted to the stronger-than-expected monthly increase in core inflation. However, the Greenback struggles to retain its gains as the annual figures show no renewed acceleration in inflationary pressures. On the Canadian side, selling pressure is

CPI and PPI climb, crushing hopes for cheap money and leaving Bitcoin traders with an expensive dilemma

US consumer prices increased faster in August, giving the Federal Reserve another reason to be cautious about lowering interest rates and leaving Bitcoin investors exposed to a prolonged period of expensive borrowing. Related Asset Bitcoin #1 BTC · $77,315.51 24-hour change: up 0.26% 24H Up 0.26% 7D Down 2.65% 30D Up 21.89% The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.4% from July, when it increased 0.1%, while the annual inflation rate held at 3.4%. Excluding food and energy, prices rose 0.3%, compared with 0.2% a month earlier, even as the annual core rate eased to 2.4% from 2.5%. Thursdays producer price report (PPI) showed a 0.4% monthly increase and a 5.4% annual gain. Energy accounted for much of the increase in both reports, although the faster monthly core CPI reading showed that consumer inflation also picked up outside fuel and food. That combination weakens the argument that slower annual inflation will soon bring lower interest rates. Investors holding cash can continue earning interest elsewhere, while those borrowing to invest face financing costs that reduce what they can earn from an increase in Bitcoins price. The Feds Sept. 15–16 meeting will put those costs back in the spotlight. The releases will enable officials to keep policy restrictive,

BTC Price Analysis: What Are Bitcoins Key Support Levels After $80K Rejection?

Bitcoin is approaching a critical point after spending the past several weeks digesting its powerful August rally. With the price slipping back toward the lower boundary of its recent structure and participation remaining relatively subdued, the market is increasingly dependent on the $76K-$77K area to prevent the current correction from extending further. Bitcoin Price Analysis: The Daily Chart Bitcoins daily structure remains significantly stronger than it was before the August breakout. The impulsive rally carried the asset through the major $66K-$67K and $72K-$74K resistance zones, as well as both major moving averages, before reaching the $80K-$82K supply area. However, the price has repeatedly failed to establish acceptance above this upper resistance zone. The latest sequence of candles shows declining momentum and a gradual retreat toward $77K, while the RSI has cooled considerably from its previous overbought readings. This suggests that the initial bullish impulse is losing strength, at least temporarily. The $76K-$77K region is now the first important support area. Holding it could allow BTC to continue consolidating beneath the $80K-$82K resistance zone before another breakout attempt. Yet a decisive daily breakdown below $76K would make a deeper correction increasingly likely, with the $72K-$74K former resistance zone representing the next major support. Despite the short-term

US DOJ restrains $52M in crypto with Tethers help

The U.S. Department of Justice has restrained more than $52 million in cryptocurrency while targeting wallets and online channels linked to the Xinbi Guarantee scam network. Tether said in a Sep. 11 statement that the DOJ credited the stablecoin issuers “proactive assistance” in an operation against Xinbi Guarantee, a Chinese-language marketplace linked to international scam groups. The coordinated action restrained more than $52 million in cryptocurrency in one day. U.S. authorities also seized two wallets that Xinbi allegedly used to receive about $12 million in payments and sought restraint orders covering 47 additional wallets tied to suspected money laundering. Xinbi operated as a service hub rather than a single scam site. According to U.S. authorities and blockchain researchers, its vendors connected fraud groups with money launderers, operators of fake investment platforms, and recruiters involved in human trafficking. DOJ targets Xinbis financial infrastructure Instead of focusing only on individual fraud schemes, the enforcement action went after the payment tools that supported Xinbis marketplace. Vendors allegedly used the platform to advertise services, receive payments, and move proceeds from online scams through cryptocurrency wallets. The two wallets targeted for seizure had collected about $12 million in payments, Tether said. Restraint requests involving another 47 wallets expanded the action to

Blockstream Refuses the 10% Cut White Hat Hackers Have Learned to Expect

Blockstream will not pay the attackers who drained its Liquid sidechain. The refusal breaks with a crypto habit of letting self-declared white hat hackers keep a slice of what they took. Liquid is a Blockstream-built network where users lock Bitcoin (BTC) and receive a matching token that moves faster. Attackers exploited a software flaw on September 6 and took roughly 4,000 BTC. Why White Hat Hackers Learned to Expect a Cut The flaw let the attackers create Liquid tokens that no real Bitcoin backed, then convert them out. Federation signing keys were never stolen, which is why the transaction that drained Liquid cleared normally. Sponsored Sponsored They later returned 3,400 BTC once Blockstream patched the software, then asked for a retroactive bug bounty. They kept 598.5 BTC, worth about $46 million at current Bitcoin prices. That demand follows a script. Nomad, a bridge that lost $190 million in 2022, publicly offered hackers 10% of the haul to send the rest back. Projects have copied the arrangement since. Blockstream Says the White-Hat Label Does Not Fit Blockstream said in its statement that open-source developers should not fund payouts far larger than their own stake in a network. Taking assets without authorization and withholding their return is a crime, not responsible disclosure.

Metaplanet Makes 41% Executive Reward Pool Cut: Will Shareholders Forgive the Dilution?

Metaplanet cancelled 131 million shares tied to its executive reward pool on Friday, shrinking the disputed insider stake by 41.1% after weeks of shareholder pressure. The board cut how many shares each warrant converts into, from 696 down to 410. That takes the pool from 319.46 million shares to 188.19 million. Strip out warrants insiders already exercised and the cut is steeper, with the remainder falling 55.5% to 105.37 million. Chief Executive Simon Gerovich valued the destroyed claim at more than $220 million. Metaplanet also scrapped a plan to move up to 90,000 warrants into a separate executive incentive vehicle. Bitcoin and gold prices dropped within seconds of the August inflation report on Friday, then recovered most of the loss inside a few minutes. The annual numbers landed exactly on forecast.
