OKT is the native cryptocurrency token used by the OKExChain network, an open-source, high-performance blockchain developed by the team at OKEx. The objective of the OKExChain is to provide a foundation for decentralized applications (dApps), particularly those related to decentralized exchanges and financial transactions, promoting and facilitating the DeFi (Decentralized Finance) landscape.

OKT plays a crucial role in the ecosystem, where the holders of OKT tokens are able to propose, vote, and participate in the governance of the network, thereby having a say in its future development. Furthermore, some transaction fees on the chain are also to be paid in OKT.
