Apple Mac M5 System Exploited With Anthropics Claude Mythos AI, Researchers Claim

A security firm claims it built a working macOS kernel exploit targeting Apples M5 chip and Memory Integrity Enforcement system. The company says a preview version of Anthropics Claude Mythos AI helped identify bugs and assist with exploit development.Apple has not yet publicly commented on the claims. Apple devices have long been considered among the hardest consumer systems to hack because of the company‘s tightly integrated hardware and software security. Now, a security startup claims a small team of researchers used a preview version of Anthropic’s Claude Mythos to build a working exploit against Apples new M5 chip protections in less than a week. In a Substack post published Thursday, the Vietnam-based Calif said it developed what it describes as the first public macOS kernel memory corruption exploit capable of surviving Apple‘s new Memory Integrity Enforcement, or MIE, protections on M5 hardware. Calif said it shared the findings with Apple in a meeting at the tech giant’s headquarters in California. “We wanted to report it in person, instead of getting buried in the submission flood that some unfortunate Pwn2Own participants just experienced,” Calif wrote. “Most respected hackers avoid human interaction whenever possible, so this physical strategy may give us a slight edge in the

Bitcoin Price Rallies as CLARITY Act Markup Begins: Breakout or Bull Trap?

The post Bitcoin Price Rallies as CLARITY Act Markup Begins: Breakout or Bull Trap? appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News Bitcoin staged a strong bounce on Thursday, rebounding sharply from a key technical support level just as the Senate Banking Committee began its live markup of the CLARITY Act. Crypto markets have been waiting months for this regulatory moment and the price reaction suggests at least some of that anticipation is being priced in real time. The bounce came directly off the 21-week exponential moving average,a level analysts had been flagging for days as the critical support line that would define whether the short-term uptrend remained intact. What the Chart Actually Says Despite the positive price action, analysts issued warnings before calling this a breakout. Bitcoin has rallied more than 30% from its February lows but has only just reached what technical analysts describe as standard resistance levels within a larger bearish structure. The current move remains a three-wave corrective advance rather than the five-wave trending structure that would confirm a genuine new bull phase. Until Bitcoin produces five clear waves higher, the rally is technically classified as a counter-trend move within a larger correction. EMCD CEO: Bitcoin Miners Can Become Profitable Again

Bitcoin mining has always been a margins business, now more so than ever. The difference between profit and loss can come down to electricity prices, machine performance, pool fees, or even how many shares get rejected before they reach the network. That pressure became more serious after the 2024 Bitcoin halving. The block reward dropped, while mining difficulty in 2026 has stayed above 135T. For many miners, the electricity cost alone to mine one Bitcoin has moved above $74,000. That leaves less room for waste, and a business can quickly become unprofitable. This is the problem EMCD and Vnish are trying to address. The new partnership brings together EMCD‘s mining pool infrastructure with Vnish’s firmware technology, which holds a 26.4% global market share. The goal is to help miners find where they are losing money and improve profitability without simply buying more machines. At Consensus 2026 in Miami, EMCD founder and CEO Michael Jerlis described a market where miners need more practical support from infrastructure providers. “Before, pools and machine manufacturers were just service providers,” Jerlis said. “Now, it looks like they became more partners with the miners.” Where Bitcoin Miners Are Losing Money The losses often start at the machine level. Factory firmware usually applies the same voltage

Onramp Raises $12.5M Series A To Scale Multi-Institution Bitcoin Custody Platform

Onramp has raised $12.5 million in a Series A round led by Early Riders, valuing the bitcoin financial services firm at $135 million as it pushes to scale a custody model designed to meet institutional standards. The Austin-based company told it now holds more than $1 billion in assets under custody and has recorded zero security incidents since its founding in 2023. The new capital will support expansion of Onramp Finance, its recently launched platform that combines bitcoin custody, brokerage, and cash management, while funding new partnerships across banks, registered investment advisors, and fintech firms. At the center of the strategy is Onramps Multi-Institution Custody (MIC) model, which distributes key control across several regulated custodians rather than relying on a single entity or placing full responsibility on clients. The system is built with partners including BitGo, Coincover, and Tetra Trust, allowing for shared control structures that can span jurisdictions. The approach targets a long-standing tradeoff in digital asset custody. Investors have often had to choose between centralized platforms with counterparty risk and self-custody setups that require technical expertise and operational oversight. Onramp positions MIC as a middle path that removes single points of failure while keeping assets verifiable on-chain. Institutional traction has begun to
