WikiBit Exchange Exit Risk Ranking #45 — BingX: It Got a MiCA License and Hired a Former Ronaldo Teammate. Why Do Users Say, “They Freeze Your Account When You Start Making Money”?
Introduction: An Exchange with a Polished Compliance Image but Deeply Divided User Reviews In our previous 44 episodes, we investigated a series of exchanges, from HashKey to LBank. For Episode 45, we turn to one of the most contradictory players in the industry: BingX. On paper, BingX has an impressive résumé in compliance and marketing. Founded in 2018, it claims more than 10 million users worldwide across over 160 countries. In October 2026, it obtained a MiCA license issued by Austrias Financial Market Authority (FMA). It also holds ISO/IEC 27001 and PCI DSS 4.0.1 certifications, publishes monthly Merkle tree Proof of Reserves (PoR) reports, and reports a BTC reserve ratio of 146.52%. After suffering a $52 million hack in 2024, it fully compensated affected users. The exchange is also a major player in copy trading and has sponsored the Argentina national football team. Sounds like a rising compliance leader and a copy-trading powerhouse, right? But there is another side to the story. BingX has a Trustpilot rating of just 1.5/5. Users complain that “they freeze your account when you make money,” that they must pay “advance fees” to withdraw funds, and that the platform demands more documentation than a bank. WikiBit gives BingX a score

WikiBit Exchange Exit Risk Ranking #43: LBank — Japan FSA Says Its “Location Is Unknown,” Users Asked to Pay a $7,800 “Verification Fee” to Withdraw Funds
Introduction: An Exchange That Has “Won Countless Awards” Yet Cannot Be Found by Regulators In the previous 42 editions, we investigated a series of exchanges ranging from HashKey to Bitstamp. In this 43rd edition, we take a closer look at one of the most controversial exchanges in terms of public image versus regulatory reality — LBank (Blue Shell). When it comes to marketing and branding, LBanks profile looks impressive: Founded in 2015, more than 20 million registered users worldwide, daily trading volume exceeding $10 billion, regional sponsorship of the Argentina national football team, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, a $100 million futures fund, 10 years without major security incidents, and a team of more than 500 employees. At first glance, it sounds like a major global exchange with a long operating history. However, the other side of the story is very different. In June 2025, Japan‘s Financial Services Agency (FSA) issued an official warning stating that LBank had an “unknown location and unknown representative”. WikiBit’s risk assessment gave LBank a score of 6.66 and flagged it for questionable regulatory licenses and high-risk concerns. The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) in Canada also placed LBank on its investor warning list. Meanwhile, users on platforms such as Trustpilot and Sikayetvar have complained

WikiBit Exchange Exit Risk Rankings #40: XT.com — The “Social Exchange” with 12 Million Users, a CAD 2 Million Canadian Penalty, and Users Told to Pay “Tax” to Withdraw
Introduction: The Two Faces of an Exchange Awards Regular In our first 39 installments, we investigated a range of exchanges, from HashKey to Tokocrypto. For Episode 40, we turn to a platform with an impressive trophy cabinet and a growing list of legal and regulatory troubles: XT.com. XT.coms marketing credentials are certainly impressive. Founded in 2018, the exchange claims 12 million registered users worldwide, coverage across more than 200 countries and regions, support for over 1,300 tokens and 1,300+ trading pairs, and approximately $3.4 billion in daily trading volume. Headquartered in Dubai, it promotes itself as a socially integrated trading platform. In 2024, it received multiple industry awards, including recognition as a “Best Cryptocurrency Exchange.” It also regularly publishes Merkle tree proof-of-reserves reports, claiming reserve ratios of over 120% for BTC, ETH, and USDT. On paper, does this sound like the perfect image of a global social trading exchange? But there is another side to the story. In 2023, Quebecs financial markets regulator, the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), ruled that XT.com had violated securities laws. In March 2025, the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) followed up with a CAD 2 million administrative penalty and a comprehensive ban on XT.com conducting securities-related activities in Ontario. In 2026,
