Crypto Market Today: HBAR Gives Back Its IBM Pump While QNT Keeps Climbing

This morning HBAR was the markets best large-cap story. By evening it was the worst. Same news, same coin, twelve hours apart. The crypto market has steadied after a rough start to the week. Total market cap sits near $2.86 trillion, up 1.1% on the day, and 61 of the top 100 coins are green. Bitcoin trades at $83,558, flat on the day (+0.27%) and down 2.03% on the week. The calm has a reason. The Bureau of Economic Analysis releases August PCE inflation data on September 30 at 8:30 a.m. ET, two weeks after the Fed raised rates for the first time since 2023. Nobody wants a big position into that print. Underneath the flat surface, two coins went in opposite directions on the same kind of news. HBAR: From +22% to -16.5% Hedera (HBAR) trades at $0.1043, down 16.5% over 24 hours. Earlier today it was up more than 20% and traded above $0.12. The fuel was a September 23 announcement from The Hashgraph Group: its Hedera-based IDTrust identity platform for AI agents was listed on the IBM Cloud Catalog. A real partnership, but a narrow one. This is a partners product on a cloud marketplace, not IBM building on Hedera itself. The market seems

LDO Price Prediction: Bulls Eye $0.50 Breakout — But the MACD Says Not So Fast

Iris Coleman Sep 29, 2026 11:34 UTC LDO is coiled just beneath the $0.48–$0.50 resistance cluster after a blistering 35%+ September rally from the $0.36 floor. Smart money is stacked 2.19:1 long, but with MACD momentum flatlined and … Septembers Rocket Fuel Is Running on Fumes — For Now LDO has been one of the quieter DeFi governance tokens all year, grinding along the $0.30–$0.40 range while institutional staking product narratives built silently underneath. Then September hit. From a June nadir of $0.235 — a multi-year low — to an intraday spike above $0.50 on September 25th, Lido DAO staged a near-vertical 35% monthly recovery. That move was not random noise. It was backed by real catalysts: the NEST automated buyback mechanism going live on mainnet, the Lido Core 2026 validator consolidation rolling out with 265,000+ validators migrating, and the ValOS validator standards launch — all converging in a tight window. Three separate protocol upgrades hitting simultaneously is the kind of catalyst stack that even skeptics have to respect. Now, heading into Monday morning on September 29, Blockchain.news readers should understand the market is digesting that spike. The September 28 close printed near $0.4938 before sellers stepped in, dragging price back to $0.46 at the

The startup develops artificial intelligence systems that can create and simulate three-dimensional environments. Founder Dr. Fei-Fei Li will join AMD as executive vice president and chief scientist, reporting to CEO Lisa Su. AMD Stock Gains as World Labs Deal Expands AI Research World Labs will operate separately from AMD‘s chip business until the transaction closes later this year. The acquisition gives AMD access to research on “world models,” which create digital 3D environments from visual data. The deal follows AMD’s $1 trillion valuation milestone as investors continue watching the companys AI expansion. Li and Su earlier demonstrated World Labs Marble model, which can build a 3D scene from a small set of images. AMD believes this research can

BitMine could hit its 5% Ether supply target within weeks — then what?

Ethereum treasury company BitMine Immersion Technologies could reach its goal of holding 5% of Ethers supply by early November if its recent buying pace continues. A Cointelegraph review of BitMines 12 weekly updates issued from July 13 through Sept. 28 shows the company reported acquiring about 259,000 Ether (ETH), averaging roughly 21,600 ETH per week. BitMine reported 6,001,302 ETH as of Sunday, equal to 4.9% of the 122.1 million ETH supply it cited. At this supply level, 5% would equate to about 6.105 million ETH, leaving BitMine roughly 103,700 ETH short. Maintaining its 12-week average purchase rate would close the gap in about 4.8 weeks, though the estimate could shift if the company changes its buying pace. BitMine had previously expected to reach 5% in late 2026 and deliberately slowed purchases in May. What happens after BitMine reaches its 5% target? In an August Bankless interview, BitMine Chairman Tom Lee said that holding more than 5% could make sense if Ethereums use expands and more enterprises begin holding ETH. However, he said BitMine would probably revisit the question in 2027. If the company decides to remain around 5%, Lee said it could sell ETH generated from staking rewards to prevent its share of supply from increasing.

Kakaopay partners with Dinari, Ondo to explore tokenized Korean stocks

South Koreas Kakaopay Securities is partnering with tokenization firms Dinari and Ondo Finance to explore bringing Korean-listed stocks onchain and distributing them to investors in international markets. Kakaopay announced separate agreements with Dinari and Ondo on Tuesday, covering the sourcing of underlying Korean shares, tokenization infrastructure and their potential distribution outside South Korea. Under the Dinari partnership, the companies will run a proof of concept using Dinaris dShares model, which is designed to preserve applicable shareholder rights, including dividends and voting. Dinari offers 724 tokenized US stocks and ETFs through dShares, with the Kakaopay partnership exploring an extension of the model to Korean-listed equities. Dinari CEO Gabe Otte told Cointelegraph that no specific Korean-listed companies have been selected for the proof of concept and that it has not set a public timeline for commercial availability. The proposed model would use locally listed Korean shares as the underlying assets rather than tokens that simply track their prices, he said. Kakaopays agreement with Ondo will initially focus on establishing a framework for sourcing and custodying Korean-listed shares that could later be tokenized. Kakaopay would operate a foreign investor omnibus account to hold and administer the underlying shares. Ondo and Kakaopay will also research token issuance and redemption.

Crypto regulation at SEC, CFTC to come down to 3 commissioners following key resignation

Two of the United States financial agencies tasked with overseeing and enforcing digital asset regulation will be down to just three commissioners after Friday, following the departure of a Republican member. On Friday, Hester Peirce, who served as a commissioner with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for eight years, will leave the agency about two months before the end of the 18-month extension for her second term. The departure of Peirce, whom many in the industry knew as “Crypto Mom” for her views on digital assets, will mark only the second time in US history the agency has operated with two commissioners. At the SEC, Chair Paul Atkins and Mark Uyeda, both Republicans, will remain as the two final commissioners in a bipartisan panel expected to consist of five people. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), another federal regulator behind many aspects of crypto oversight and enforcement, has been led by Chair Michael Selig as the sole commissioner since December 2025, when acting chair Caroline Pham departed. As US President, Donald Trump is the only person under federal law who can nominate replacements to fill the empty SEC and CFTC leadership seats. However, the White House has not announced any nominations

Crypto ETFs draw $2.39 billion as Bitcoin retreats on Treasury yield surge

Crypto ETFs have attracted $2.39 billion in weekly inflows, pushing 2026 net flows back above zero despite Bitcoins 4.3% decline as U.S. ten-year Treasury yields climbed to 5.20%, according to Hilbert Group. Summary$2.39 billion in weekly ETF inflows reversed a year-to-date deficit that reached $5.8 billion in July.Bitcoin fell 4.3% to $83,500 as ten-year Treasury yields rose from about 4.95% to 5.20%.Hilberts Jesse Marre sees $89,000 as the breakout level that could open a move toward $95,000.Marre warned that agency-led crypto rules could be rewritten under a future U.S. administration. Hilbert Group, the digital asset investment firm listed on Nasdaq First North, published its weekly market update on Sep. 28. In comments provided to crypto.news, senior portfolio manager Jesse Marre said continued ETF buying stood out during a week when rising government bond yields pressured Bitcoin and U.S. stocks. Although Bitcoin retreated after its recent rally, Marre said fund inflows continued, repeating the previous weeks pattern of negative developments failing to produce a lasting setback in demand. Crypto ETF inflows erase the years losses For Marre, the $2.39 billion intake was the weeks strongest figure because it brought annual ETF flows back into positive territory after a deficit of $5.8 billion at the worst point

WIF Price Prediction: Whales Are Loading — But $0.25 Is the Line in the Sand

Zach Anderson Sep 29, 2026 11:18 UTC WIF pumped 5.3% into a brick wall at $0.25 with smart money leaning 61.7% long and open interest surging 6.88%, but a dead-flat MACD histogram and aggressive taker selling are warning that this mov… WIFs 5.3% Pop Meets Its Maker at $0.25 dogwifhat ripped 5.3% today and is sitting right on top of its pivot at $0.24, staring at a hard ceiling at $0.25. This isnt an accident — $0.25 is both the immediate and strong resistance level, and WIF has been butting its head against it all session. The move has the hallmarks of real positioning rather than a random retail pump: open interest surged 6.88% alongside price, meaning this isnt just existing longs marking up their books — new money is entering the trade. For a Solana-ecosystem meme coin at this price level, that distinction matters enormously. The backdrop is pure meme coin territory: sentiment-driven, Bitcoin-correlated, and entirely dependent on whether broader crypto risk appetite holds. As covered by Blockchain.news, Solana meme tokens have been operating in a compressed, range-bound structure, waiting for a catalyst to define the next directional leg. Today‘s $3.17M Binance spot volume is thin but directional — and the direction is upward.
