Solana DEX Trades Top NYSE With 208M Weekly Transactions

Solana Narrows Nasdaq Gap as Weekly DEX Trades Hit 208M Solana just crossed a line that would have sounded improbable a few years ago. Decentralized exchanges (DEXs) on the network processed roughly 208 million spot trades in the week ending Sept. 13, according to data cited by The Kobeissi Letter. That topped the 190 million trades recorded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) over the same period. The gap with Nasdaq also narrowed to about 47 million trades, the smallest on record. The comparison needs context. A Solana DEX swap is not economically equivalent to an equity trade on the NYSE. Trade sizes, market structure and underlying assets differ sharply. Still, the raw activity is difficult to ignore. Source: Kobeissi LetterJupiter Drives Solanas Trading Surge Much of the acceleration has come through Jupiter, Solanas largest trading aggregator. BlackRock expects exchange-traded compute futures as it pitches stablecoins for AI agents

In its new research paper, BlackRock expects standardized compute products, like exchange-traded compute futures, to emerge as AI adoption expands. “The Machine-Native Economy” also touts stablecoins as the payment rail for autonomous AI agents. Hyperscaler cloud revenue could reach $1.1 trillion by 2030 The paper casts compute, the processing power that trains and runs AI, as a resource that might follow the trajectory of large commodity markets. Those markets built trading infrastructure to improve liquidity and risk management, BlackRock wrote. “We expect standardized products, including exchange-traded compute futures, to support more transparent price discovery and more effective hedging for both providers and consumers of compute capacity,” BlackRocks paper says. The business said that claims on compute capacity could be shown, moved, pledged as collateral, and settled on the blockchain. They also said this might bring more institutional investors into the market. The productivity of different generations of chips varies, the cost of energy varies by region, and there arent workable standards yet for cash settlement or for delivering the contracted capacity. These are what BlackRock calls “important but ultimately resolvable design considerations.” Sell-side analysts think that AWS, Microsofts Intelligent Cloud, and Google Cloud will bring in about $1.1 trillion in combined revenue by 2030. U.S. Treasury Sets $6B Buyback as Long-Term Yields Surge The $6 billion ceiling marks a sharp increase from the $2 billion maximum initially planned for long-end operations earlier this quarter. In August, Treasury said buybacks covering 10- to 30-year securities would rise to at least $4 billion through November 4. Officials linked the larger operations to strong participation and efforts to improve liquidity in older, less-traded securities. The latest purchase comes as long-term Treasury

US Lawmakers from Gaming States Urge SCOTUS to Take up Kalshi Case

A group of US state lawmakers has filed an amicus brief with the US Supreme Court, urging justices to weigh in on a case between prediction markets platform Kalshi and gaming authorities. On Tuesday, the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) filed in the US Supreme Court, supporting New Jersey‘s Attorney General and gaming authorities’ petition for a writ of certiorari. The petition, filed on Sept. 2, asked the nation‘s highest court to consider New Jersey’s case against Kalshi, potentially resolving whether state authorities or federal agencies have jurisdiction over prediction market companies. In its amicus curiae filing supporting New Jersey‘s position, the NCLGS argued that a ruling favoring Kalshi would “[render] states powerless” to regulate sports betting on prediction markets, causing “substantial harm and confusion.” According to the group, “gaming-related matters” should be left to individual US state authorities, though the filing did not address the competing argument that event contracts traded on federally regulated markets fall under the CFTC’s exclusive jurisdiction. “If Kalshi‘s self-described ’sports betting activities are deemed beyond state regulation, then casinos, pari-mutuel operators, and other heavily regulated entities are certain to amend their business and products to seek the same status,” said state lawmakers. “Entire state

Palantir‘s Rule of 40 score hit 145% in Q1 — a number that puts it in the same conversation as Nvidia on a pure AI infrastructure growth basis. Vitalik Buterin Endorses Trueo as Prediction Market Moves to Ethereum

Trueo says the shift is about Ethereums integrations and philosophy, not dissatisfaction with Base or its place among competing networks. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has welcomed Trueos planned migration from Base to Ethereum mainnet, describing it as a new prediction-market contender focused on decentralization and ethical design. The move puts Trueos dispute-resolution system and plans for wider DeFi integration at the center of its pitch as prediction markets face legal scrutiny and competition. Trueo Says Ethereum Fits Its Long-Term Plans In a post on X, Buterin praised the project for being “dedicated to decentralization, and being ethical and not corposlop,” adding that he was glad to see a team trying to do “interesting and meaningful things” with prediction markets. Trueo announced the move on September 21, explaining that it first launched on Base in March 2025. The team described the Layer 2 network as a useful environment for early experimentation, when the Ethereum mainnet gas costs were higher and parts of the application were still experimental. But Trueo now wants to build a platform that is “widely adopted, broadly integrated, fully permissionless, mostly immutable, and highly credible.” It believes Ethereum is a better fit for that goal because of its network effects and global integrations, as

Coinbase plans post-quantum Bitcoin custody for any scheme

Coinbase has begun designing a post-quantum custody system intended to protect about $250 billion in institutional assets while supporting any new signature scheme adopted by Bitcoin or another blockchain. Coinbase prepares custody for several signature schemes MARA Foundation TV hosted Coinbase Chief Cryptographer Yehuda Lindell, who said the exchange wants its custody platform to remain usable regardless of which post-quantum signature schemes blockchains eventually select. Bitcoin has not chosen a signature scheme for practical post-quantum use, leaving custodians without a single technical standard around which to rebuild their systems. Lindell said different blockchain communities may also reach different decisions instead of adopting one common scheme. Coinbase is therefore preparing for several possible outcomes rather than building its system around one candidate. Lindell said the company wants to avoid a situation in which a blockchain approves a signature scheme that its custody infrastructure cannot handle. The work carries added weight because Coinbase holds about $250 billion in assets for institutional customers, according to the figure Lindell gave during the program. Its clients include BlackRock, which uses Coinbase Custody for digital assets connected to its investment products. An August U.S. custody review placed Coinbases institutional assets at approximately $376 billion and said the company safeguards more than 80%

US stablecoin adoption could surge with bank-like protections: Visa survey

Visa released the results of a survey signaling that bank-level fraud protection and insurance could drive adoption in stablecoins for cross-border transactions among US users. In a survey of 2,192 US-based customers published on Wednesday, Visa said that the “adoption intention” of stablecoins among US users could climb from 36% to 56% “in a hypothetical scenario with bank-level fraud protection and deposit insurance.” The findings conducted by Morning Consult between February and March showed that Americans who were asked about financial terms like stablecoins were looking for faster and cheaper methods to send money abroad. “Nearly two-thirds (64%) [of respondents] say trust depends more on who offers a payment method than on the tech itself,” said Visa. “Willingness to use stablecoins rises from 36% to 45% when offered through an existing financial provider.” The survey posited bank-like protections for stablecoin issuers in the US at a time when companies are preparing for the enactment of the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act. The bill awaits finalized rules from key US financial agencies ahead of its effective date, expected in January 2027.
