XRP Ledger urges node upgrade after manifest flood

Ripple Director of Engineering Vijay Khanna urged XRP Ledger node operators on Aug. 2 to install xrpld version 3.2.1 after developers observed a validator manifest flood on July 31. SummaryJuly 31 manifest flooding prompted xrpld 3.2.1 while XRP Ledger continued closing ledgers normally throughout.Four safeguards now cap manifest size, message batches, outbound sharing and unknown-key cache growth network-wide.Operators should upgrade, verify xrpld is running, then restart again to clear persisted manifests safely. The hotfix limits how nodes process, store and share data received from unknown validator identities. The XRP Ledger continued closing ledgers normally during the event, according to XRP Ledger Operations. The available evidence therefore points to pressure on node resources and peer-to-peer communications rather than a confirmed loss of funds, altered transactions or failure of ledger consensus. Developers have not published a CVE identifier or financial-loss estimate connected to the incident. XRPL Node operators, Please upgrade to 3.2.1 asap. It has a hotfix that prevents the manifest flood attack. Bitcoin ETFs gain fresh case after $89M Coldcard drain, says Balchunas XRPL 3.2.1 limits the manifest flood route Validator manifests are cryptographically signed records that connect a validators stable master identity to the temporary key it uses for daily validation messages. How XRPL validators quietly killed a silent exploit that could have drained victim accounts through transaction fees alone

RippleX expects the next version of the XRP Ledgers core server software, xrpld 3.3.0, as soon as next week. The release would put rewritten Batch and Permission Delegation amendments back into the validator process after authorization flaws led operators to block their predecessors before mainnet activation. The rollout remains at the prerelease stage. xrpld 3.2.1 was still the latest stable release on Aug. 1, while official beta and release-candidate tags for 3.3.0 were public. A mainnet majority countdown had yet to begin for either replacement amendment. RippleX product head Jazzi Cooper listed five proposed XRP Ledger features for 3.3.0: Confidential MPT, Batch, Permission Delegation, Sponsored Fees and Reserves, and Dynamic MPT. Cooper said all five would still require validator approval before activation. Why validators stopped the original features The original Batch amendment contained an authorization flaw that could have allowed an attacker to execute inner transactions for arbitrary victim accounts without their private keys, including unauthorized payments and ledger changes. The official disclosure said researchers found the problem while the amendment was still in voting. Validators blocked activation, and no funds were put at risk. CryptoSlate reported on that intervention in February. Permission Delegation exposed a different path to loss. An invalid offline-signed transaction could still

Onchain analytics firm Lookonchain, which flagged the transfers in an X post, characterized the move as a likely sale. Crypto.com is one of the two custodians the firm chose when establishing its bitcoin treasury strategy in May 2025, alongside Anchorage Digital. A Trump Media spokesperson told The Block shortly after publication that the BTC was transferred to Crypto.com but not sold, matching the firms explanation for a similar transfer in May. New York asks judge to force Kalshi to hand over the names, wagers, and losses of its local bettors

New York has asked a Manhattan state court to permanently block prediction-market exchange Kalshi from offering what the state calls unlicensed sports wagering to New Yorkers, escalating a fight over whether federal commodities oversight shields the platform from state gambling laws. A verified petition dated July 31 asks the court to order Kalshi to identify affected customers and itemize their wagers, losses and the companys gains. The state also seeks customer restitution, damages, disgorgement, prejudgment interest and costs. The most aggressive demands are a penalty equal to three times Kalshis alleged gains and $100,000 for each unauthorized offer or attempt to offer sports wagering or mobile sports wagering within or from New York. Those remedies have only been requested. The court has not found Kalshi liable or awarded New York any money, and the petition provides neither an adjudicated gain figure nor a count of covered offers. That makes any aggregate estimate of Kalshis potential exposure speculative. New York targets Kalshis operating model Attorney General Letitia James brought the case under Executive Law Section 63(12), which allows the state to pursue alleged repeated or persistent illegality. The petition advances eight theories. It alleges violations of New Yorks constitutional gambling prohibition, three state Penal Law provisions, three

Trump Media transfers 2,628 BTC as holdings shrink

Trump Media-linked wallets transferred 2,628 Bitcoin, valued at about $165 million, to Crypto.com on Aug. 2, according to on-chain analysts Lookonchain. The movement reportedly reduced the wallets remaining balance to about 4,261 BTC.Lookonchain described the movement as another sale and estimated that Trump Media had disposed of 7,281 BTC over seven months. However, neither Trump Media nor an SEC filing had confirmed the latest coins were sold as of Aug. 2. An exchange deposit can precede a sale, custody change, collateral arrangement or another internal transaction. Trump Media transfer is not a confirmed sale Lookonchain said the company originally acquired 11,542 BTC for about $1.37 billion, averaging $118,522 per coin. Its post stated, “It looks like Trump Media sold another 2,628 BTC,” wording that reflects uncertainty about the final transaction. EmberCN separately traced the 2,628 BTC to Crypto.com and estimated that the linked wallets had transferred out about 7,281 BTC. The Arkham entity page identified two recent movements totaling roughly 2,628 BTC, including transfers of about 2,429 BTC and 198.9 BTC. Circle receives New York trust charter for subsidiary

Circle said Friday that the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) has granted a limited purpose trust charter to its subsidiary, Circle Internet Trust Company LLC. A limited purpose trust charter is issued under New York Banking Law for institutions that do not have the general power to accept deposits or make loans like traditional banks, according to the NYDFS. Instead, charter holders may exercise fiduciary powers and conduct activities such as custodial services, investment management, corporate trust, transfer agency and securities clearance. NYDFS also notes that some applicants seek to engage in virtual currency-related activity. “Earning a New York trust charter has been a longstanding objective for Circle given the regulatory clarity that comes with it,” CEO Jeremy Allaire said in a press release. Circle was the first company to receive a NYDFS BitLicense in 2015, allowing it to conduct virtual currency business in New York. The company issues the US dollar-pegged stablecoin USDC, which has a market capitalization of $71.8 billion, making it the second-largest stablecoin behind Tether USDt (USDT) and the fifth-largest cryptocurrency. BNB Chain sues ex-employee over $628K memecoin trade

BNB Chain said on Aug. 1 that it was pursuing legal action against a former employee who allegedly retained unauthorized access to a seed phrase and later used the associated wallet address with a new memecoin. The network said it was cooperating with authorities but did not identify the individual, jurisdiction, agency or court. The wallet was created for a company video tutorial showing how to generate a token, according to BNB Chains statement. The organization said the former employee later generated a new private key from the retained seed phrase. It denied creating, authorizing, promoting or participating in the new token. A wallet address was previously created by a former employee, which they then used to generate a token, as part of a video tutorial. That individual is no longer with the company as part of this incident. The individual retained unauthorised access to the associated seed phrase… BNB Chain distances itself from ASTEROID BNB Chain described the addresss later use as independent activity and said the token was not affiliated with or endorsed by the ecosystem. Its announcement did not provide a complaint, case number, named regulator or details about where the planned legal action would be brought. Changpeng “CZ” Zhao reposted the statement and

Minnesota crypto ATM ban starts after $1M losses

Minnesotas statewide crypto ATM ban took effect on Aug. 1, 2026, stopping operators from offering virtual currency kiosks after residents reported nearly $1 million in related scam losses. Governor Tim Walz signed Senate File 3868 on May 5 after the measure cleared the state legislature. The law covers machines that exchange cash, bank credit or another virtual currency for crypto. It does not prevent Minnesotans from buying, selling or holding digital assets through lawful online services. The ban took effect as scheduled, with physical removal due by year-end. Minnesota crypto ATM ban stops kiosk transactions Under the enacted Minnesota law, businesses may no longer install, operate, maintain or make a crypto kiosk available for use anywhere in the state. Existing machines had to stop processing transactions by Aug. 1, although operators have until Dec. 31 to remove them from locations visible or accessible to the public. The Minnesota Department of Commerce said it is working with licensed money-service businesses to secure compliance. Assistant Commissioner Sara Payne said the department can take enforcement action, including legal sanctions and civil penalties, against operators that continue offering kiosk transactions. The public and retailers may also report machines that remain operational. The state had about 350 licensed kiosks operated by

Ripple Lawsuit Architect Takes Over as US Director of National Intelligence

Jay Clayton becomes Americas top intelligence official on Monday. He is the same man who, as SEC chairman, sued Ripple for $1.3 billion. Bill Pulte announced the handover on Saturday. He has held the DNI job on an acting basis since June. What Jay Claytons DNI Move Means for Ripple Clayton ran the SEC until December 2020. On his final full day, the agency sued Ripple. The complaint named two executives as well. It said Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen sold about $600 million of XRP themselves. Judge Analisa Torres gave each side part of what it wanted. Only Ripples sales to large institutions broke the law. She fined the company $125,035,150. She also ordered it not to repeat those sales. Both sides gave up their appeals on August 7, 2025. That ended the four-year case, and the fine stood. Now Clayton leaves finance behind for good. His new job has no power over the SEC, crypto rules, or XRP. That answers the question BeInCrypto asked at his June DNI nomination. XRP barely moved. It traded near $1.08 on Sunday, up 1.9% on the day. XRP Price Performance. AAVE Price Prediction: $95 Is the Line in the Sand — Break It or Bleed to $87

Iris Coleman Aug 02, 2026 09:56 AAVE is stuck at $92.39 with momentum flatlined and sellers dominating short-term order flow — but top traders are quietly loading the long side. The next 30 days hinge entirely on reclaiming $95.2… AAVEs Technical Reality Check The setup here is classic no-man‘s land. Momentum has gone effectively comatose — the MACD has converged to near-zero divergence, meaning whatever directional trend was in play has burned itself out completely. Buyers aren’t stepping up with conviction, and sellers arent triggering panic. That equilibrium alone should raise your alertness, not your confidence. Price is sandwiched below a tight cluster of short-term moving averages — the 7-day at $95.89 and the 20-day at $94.56 are forming a ceiling, while the 50-day down at $88.67 provides a technical floor. The Bollinger Band picture reinforces this: AAVE is hovering at roughly 36% of the band range, well below the $94.56 midline, with $87 as the lower bound and $102.13 as the dream scenario if bulls wake up. The market is literally telling you that the full range of plausible outcomes over the next 30 days runs from $87 to $102. The one contrarian signal worth leaning into: the Stochastic oscillator is deeply depressed with %K
