Ethereum Software Firm ConsenSys to Cut Upwards of 100 Staff

Abstract:Based on media reporting and press announcements, the market believes that over 27,000 jobs have been lost in the crypto industry since April.

According to a person familiar with the situation, ConsenSys, the developer of the cryptocurrency wallet MetaMask, wants to lay off 100 or more employees.

The Ethereum studio in New York City now employs around 900 people. According to the individual, the anticipated cuts are in the process of being finalized, and the exact number is unknown at this time.

It's a rough week for crypto employment, with Coinbase, a U.S. exchange, also announcing cutbacks of 20% of its personnel, or around 950 jobs, on Tuesday. According to research, approximately 27,000 jobs have been lost in the business since April of last year.
