Coinbase-Backed Group Endorses 32 Crypto-Friendly US

Abstract:Coinbase-backed advocacy group Stand With Crypto has endorsed 32 congressional incumbents for November's US midterm elections, backing lawmakers who supported crypto legislation in the House. Executive Director Mason Lynaugh said the group is proving its organizing capacity after demonstrating in 2024 that crypto voters could influence elections. With more than three million registered advocates, its endorsements include Republicans Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga. The CLARITY Act faces a Senate procedural vote on Sept. 15 but lacks the 60 votes needed to advance. Crypto companies and industry groups have spent nearly $200 million on the 2026 midterms, while Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has called for enforceable ethics rules covering President Trump's crypto interests.

Stand With Crypto has endorsed 32 congressional incumbents for Novembers US midterm elections, backing lawmakers who supported crypto legislation as the CLARITY Act faces hurdles in the Senate.

As first reported by Reuters, the Coinbase-backed group is targeting members who voted for the bill in the House last year. The endorsements aim to help return those lawmakers to Congress as senators debate rules for digital assets.

Crypto Group Expands Election Push

Stand With Crypto Executive Director Mason Lynaugh said the group has expanded since its 2024 campaign, when it sought to show that crypto voters could influence elections.

“In 2024 we were very much proving that the crypto voter is real. In 2026 were very much showing that we have the organizing capacity and that our advocates are a true voting bloc that can move the needle,” Lynaugh said.

The group says it has more than three million registered US advocates. Its latest endorsements include Republicans Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga.

CLARITY Act Faces Senate Pressure

The Senate is scheduled to hold a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act on Sept. 15, but the bill lacks the 60 votes needed to advance.

Crypto companies and industry groups have spent nearly $200 million on the 2026 midterms. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has called for enforceable ethics rules covering President Donald Trumps crypto interests.
