Hundreds at Google push leadership to drop Pentagon AI tie-up

More than 600 Google (GOOGL, GOOG) employees told Sundar Pichai on Monday to keep the Pentagon away from Googles AI for classified work. The letter came from workers inside DeepMind and Google Cloud, who pointed to a report from The Information that said Google and the US Department of Defense were in talks over using Gemini inside classified systems. Google employees outline numerous reasons to block Gemini from secret Pentagon work The letter started with a direct warning to Sundar, who the workers are telling, “We are Google employees who are deeply concerned about ongoing negotiations between Google and the US Department of Defense. As people working on AI, we know that these systems can centralize power and that they do make mistakes.” The employees said they believe their closeness to the technology gives them “a responsibility to highlight and prevent its most unethical and dangerous uses.” “We ask you to refuse to make our AI systems available for classified workloads. Otherwise, such uses may occur without our knowledge or the power to stop them,” said Google employees. The letter then explained that they want AI to help people, not support harm. They named lethal autonomous weapons and mass surveillance as core fears. They also

Analyzing why Bitcoins biggest sellers have gone quiet right now

Is there not as much pressure to sell Bitcoin [BTC] as it seems? Miners are keeping their holdings steady, giving us a calmer supply environment. While it may not be a trend reversal, one of the major sources of market pressure has definitely slowed down. Heres the rundown… Miner exchange deposits have fallen hard Miner deposit transactions are down, with the press time reading near 8,138 transactions – One of the lowest levels in recent times. The value hinted at a slowdown from the heavy activity of late 2025, when miner deposits crossed 100,000 transactions at times. Source: Cryptoquant Since the start of 2026, the trend has slowed down. Spikes became smaller and less frequent and miners are not moving Bitcoin to exchanges as much as before. This is important because miner deposits are often linked to potential selling or profit-taking. Miner reserves rebuild Thats not all though as miner reserves are recovering from the lower levels seen around February and March, with the press time reading near 1.8M BTC. This basically means that miners are holding more Bitcoin instead of moving them out. Source: Cryptoquant Here, the March jump stands out, followed by a period where reserves stayed elevated. Even though reserves have since calmed from that local peak, theyre

IDF strikes over 20 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon amid ceasefire conditions

Tech IDF strikes over 20 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon amid ceasefire conditions The IDF hit over 20 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley, testing ongoing ceasefire conditions. The Israel x Hezbollah ceasefire by June 30 market sits at 100% YES. The strikes targeted Hezbollah supply lines and military infrastructure in the Beqaa Valley, consistent with Israel‘s effort to degrade the group’s strategic capabilities. The April 30 market is also at 100% YES with 6 days left. The Trump Endorsement of Israeli Ceasefire market is at 100% YES, though continued hostilities could deter Trumps endorsement. The Israel Suspension of Lebanon Offensive market sits at 100% YES for April 30. All four markets show $0 in face value traded. Zero volume means there is no active trader engagement, and a single large order could move odds significantly given how thin these books are. At 100%, YES shares in the ceasefire markets are priced as certainties, yet the IDF is actively striking targets inside Lebanon. That disconnect makes these markets worth watching. Any official ceasefire announcement from Netanyahu or a formal Hezbollah response would directly change probabilities. Traders should also track IDF statements on the scope of military operations, since an escalation or drawdown would

GitHub Copilot Switches to Usage-Based Billing Model

GitHub has announced a major shift in its pricing model for Copilot, its AI-powered coding assistant. Starting June 1, 2026, all Copilot plans will transition to usage-based billing, replacing the current premium request unit (PRU) model. Users will now consume ‘GitHub AI Credits’ based on token usage, encompassing input, output, and cached tokens. This transition represents a strategic move by GitHub to align its pricing with the actual computational demands of its service. Copilot has evolved significantly, now capable of running long, multi-step coding sessions and iterating across entire repositories. According to Mario Rodriguez, Chief Product Officer at GitHub, this increased functionality has also driven up the costs associated with inference and compute demands. Whats Changing? Under the new model, base plan pricing remains unchanged. For instance, Copilot Pro will continue to cost $10/month, which now includes $10 in AI Credits. Similarly, Copilot Pro+ stays at $39/month with $39 in AI Credits. However, credits will be consumed as users interact with Copilot, and additional credits can be purchased if needed. Notably, “Code completions” and “Next Edit suggestions” will remain credit-free. For businesses, Copilot Business and Enterprise plans also retain their pricing at $19/user/month and $39/user/month, respectively. To ease the transition, organizations will receive promotional

According to Politico, Tillis said he would withdraw support for the legislation if it leaves the Senate without provisions limiting how federal officials, including those in the executive branch, engage with digital assets. “There has to be ethics language in the bill before it leaves the Senate, or Ill go from one of the people working on negotiating it to voting against it,” he told the publication. Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego tied the bills progress to bipartisan agreement on the same issue, telling Politico that “there is no final bill — there is no final movement — unless there is a bipartisan agreement when it comes to the ethics provision.” A senior member of the Senate Banking Committee, Tillis holds influence over whether the proposal advances, especially as the chamber works to reconcile its version with the House-passed Digital Asset Market Clarity
