Securitize, Computershare open path for $70 trillion in U.S. stocks to move onchain

BlackRock-backed Securitize and Computershare are bringing parts of the $70 trillion U.S. stock market onchain via tokenized equities, in a move that pushes traditional Wall Street infrastructure closer to blockchain rails. The agreement allows listed firms to add tokenized equity – called Issuer-Sponsored Tokens (ISTs) – alongside existing shares, giving investors the option to hold stock through traditional systems or in a digital wallet. The effort is part of a broader push to make tokenized shares work within current market rules while offering new ways to hold and move assets, from wallet-based ownership to faster settlement. Transfer agents like Computershare sit at the center of that system, maintaining shareholder records and handling corporate actions. By integrating at that layer, the companies aim to avoid a common crypto workaround, in which tokens represent claims on shares rather than the shares themselves. Securitize is a blockchain-based firm that enables real-world assets, such as equities and funds, to be issued, traded, and managed in tokenized form on blockchain networks. The firm is best known for issuing asset management giant BlackRocks $2.5 billion tokenized money market fund and for helping the New York Stock Exchange build its tokenized equity platform. It also aims to go public later this

XRP Bull Case: Adoption, Scarcity & $180T Market Potential

XRP Outlook Strengthens as Adoption, Scarcity, and $180T Payments Market Shape Long-Term Price Case According to crypto researcher SMQKE, XRP should not be when it comes to long-term price appreciation. The argument is built on a simple but powerful combination: expanding adoption, a gradually tightening supply, and a massive global payments market that is still largely inefficient. At the center of this outlook is adoption. As more banks integrate Ripples distributed ledger technology for cross-border settlements, transaction activity across the XRP Ledger is expected to rise significantly. The idea is not just isolated usage, but a widening ecosystem of financial participants moving value through the network at scale. Payment service providers such as Finastra, Volante, and CGI are also highlighted as key contributors. By tapping into the XRPLs cross-currency real-time gross settlement capabilities and its neutral liquidity framework, these institutions add additional transaction layers beyond direct bank usage. In practical terms, this means more volume flowing through the system, which naturally increases network utility over time. XRPs Long-Term Setup: Adoption Growth, Shrinking Supply, and Expanding Global Demand Align SMQKE notes that as institutional adoption expands and payment infrastructure firms plug into the ecosystem, transaction volumes on the XRP network are positioned to grow substantially. The second pillar is supply.

Federal Reserve Holds Interest Rates Steady at 3.5–3.75% – Bitcoin News

Bitcoin Federal Reserve Holds Interest Rates Steady at 3.5–3.75% – Bitcoin NewsThe Fed voted 8–4 on April 29, 2026, to hold the federal funds rate at 3.5–3.75%, with Stephen Miran dissenting for a cut.The FOMC cited Middle East uncertainty and elevated inflation above the 2% target as key reasons to hold rates steady.Bowman, Kashkari, Logan, and Miran split on approach, signaling internal Fed divisions heading into the next 2026 meeting. Fed: No Change The FOMCs April 29 decision was not unanimous. Eight members voted to hold, while four dissented for different reasons. Stephen I. Miran voted to lower the target range by a quarter percentage point. Michelle W. Bowman, Neel Kashkari, and Lorie K. Logan voted to hold rates but objected to language in the statement they believed signaled an easing bias. Chair Jerome Powell and the majority of voting members cited persistent inflation and a firm labor market as the basis for holding. The committee said in its statement that “ inflation is elevated, in part reflecting the recent increase in global energy prices,” and noted that “job gains have remained low, on average, and the unemployment rate has been little changed in recent months.” The Fed also pointed to international conditions as a

Yemen backs Iran, warns US against military actions in escalating conflict

Tech Yemen backs Iran, warns US against military actions in escalating conflict Yemen has officially backed Iran and warned the US against further military actions in the region. Odds for a US-Iran ceasefire by April 30 sit at 2.2% YES, down from 14% a week ago. Yemens pledge of support for Iran in the Strait of Hormuz adds a new party to the conflict, making a ceasefire less likely. The April 30 market reflects this, with odds nearly flatlining as traders price in further hostilities. The May 31 market for a permanent peace deal is at 29.5% YES, down from 52% a week ago. Volume on the ceasefire market is $70,162 in actual USDC traded. The order book is thin: only $1,096 would shift the odds by 5 percentage points, which means a single large trade could move the price substantially. The permanent peace deal market is thicker, requiring $6,238 for a comparable move. For traders, Yemens backing of Iran represents a concrete escalation. At 2.2¢, a YES share pays $1 if a ceasefire is declared, a 45.5x return. But that requires a diplomatic breakthrough within a day. Watch for any shift in US rhetoric or intermediary actions, particularly from Oman or Qatar. Trumps next move

Yum! Brands (YUM) Stock Surges as Taco Bell Delivers Stellar Q1 Performance

Yum! Brands, Inc., YUM Taco Bell emerged as the undisputed star performer. The Mexican-inspired fast-food chain achieved 8% same-store sales growth during the quarter, substantially exceeding the 5.6% StreetAccount estimate. Chief Executive Officer Chris Turner characterized the results as “an outstanding” achievement that was “meaningfully ahead of the QSR industry.” Digital revenue also showcased impressive momentum. Company-wide digital sales approached $11 billion, while the digital sales mix reached an all-time high of 63%. The company revealed plans to broaden its implementation of AI-powered A/B testing throughout Taco Bell drive-thru operations following a successful first-quarter trial. Turner emphasized that the U.S. business remains “strategically important,” though acknowledging improvement opportunities. KFC is emphasizing value propositions and product innovation, incorporating insights

Tech Sen. Tillis Pushes for CLARITY Act Markup as Stablecoin Yield Concerns Largely Addressed Senator Thom Tillis, a key member of the Senate Banking Committee, has signaled his readiness to vote to advance the CLARITY Act out of the committee. The senator said he will push for the crypto bill‘s markup once they return from their May recess, as they have largely addressed banks’ concerns over the stablecoin yield text in the bill. Senator Tillis To Push For CLARITY Act Markup Amid May Expectations According to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, Senator Tillis said he is ready to advance the CLARITY Act to markup. The senator said that he will ask the Senate Banking Committee Chair, Tim Scott, to move forward with scheduling a markup when they return from their May recess. “I think we‘ve made a lot of progress, and it’s time to get it before the committee to move it forward,” Tillis said. This is significant as Senator Scott had previously cited getting full Republican support as a hurdle before they could mark up the crypto bill. Tillis appeared to be one of the holdouts on the committee before now, as he sought to address concerns about stablecoin rewards, with the banking industry claiming that

Securitize Teams Up With Computershare to Tokenize U.S.-Listed Equities

Issuer-Sponsored Tokens enable direct equity ownership in token form, rather than synthetic wrappers sitting on top of underlying shares. Tokenization platform Securitize and Computershare, one of the worlds largest transfer agents, announced an agreement on Wednesday to enable U.S.-listed issuers to bring their equity onchain through a new construct called Issuer-Sponsored Tokens (ISTs). Under the deal, participating issuers can include ISTs as part of their issued capital alongside existing shares, including those held in the Direct Registration System (DRS). Computershare will serve as transfer agent for the tokenized holdings, processing corporate actions for ISTs in parallel with directly registered positions, according to a press release. Crucially, ISTs are not derivative wrappers. “ISTs do not rely on derivative tokens that sit on top of underlying shares, nor do they alter any underlying equity,” said Securitize co-founder and CEO Carlos Domingo, framing the structure as a way to create direct equity ownership in token form. That distinction matters in a market where most existing tokenized equity products, from Backed‘s xStocks to Dinari’s dShares, rely on synthetic representations backed 1:1 by deposited certificates rather than native onchain issuance. Nasdaqs own tokenized equities filing flagged the gap between wrapper-style products and tokens that confer the same shareholder rights
