OpenSea CMO tells Cryptopolitan: Were building one app for NFTs, meme coins, perps, and major cryptos

OpenSea is not trying to live only as the place people remember from the $NFT boom. At Consensus Miami on Thursday, Adam Hollander, the companys chief marketing officer, told Karnika E. Yashwant, also known as Mr. KEY, the founder and CEO of KEY Difference Media, that OpenSea is now building around NFTs, meme coins, perps, and major cryptos inside one non-custodial app. Mr. KEY opened the interview by asking Adam to explain how he got here, saying, “How did you come in here? What are you up to?” Adam said he first built a software company that was sold to Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), then spent years learning how products are built and marketed at a much larger scale. He explained that: I left Microsoft, came back to Austin, Texas, and I became the chief operating officer of a medical education company for four and a half years. After that, I spent several years as a collector, a trader, and dove very deep down the rabbit hole of NFTs and digital ownership and started really being a public evangelist for a lot of the technology that we all believe in and are so excited about even, you know, all the way through today. OpenSea Airdrop Farming Guide: Practical $SEA Strategy

What is OpenSea? OpenSea is the original large-scale $NFT marketplace, launched in 2017 by Devin Finzer and Alex Atallah. It started as an open marketplace for NFTs, then expanded into a broader on-chain trading venue. OpenSea says it crossed $10 billion in cumulative volume in 2021, and later raised $300 million at a $13.3 billion valuationfrom Paradigm and Coatue. The newer pitch is OS2: NFTs, token swaps, cross-chain purchasing, and rewards in one interface. OpenSea said OS2 went public in May 2025 with token trading across 19 chains, plus Voyages, its quest-based rewards system. Devin Finzer summed up the pivot directly: “OS2 is the foundation for the next generation of OpenSea.” OpenSea daily USD volume chart on top, cumulative USD volume chart below, with counters showing $1,207,429 last 24H volume and $40,357,918,453 total historical volume. The Dune dashboard tracks OpenSea trading volume, though dynamic chart values can move after publication. Why we expect an OpenSea airdrop This is no longer a pure rumor farm. OpenSea announced $SEA in February 2025 and said the token would recognize “active and loyal users” as well as historical OpenSea users. That is the strongest signal in this campaign: past usage matters, but recent OS2 activity also appears relevant. The VC angle

US prosecutors abandon OpenSea insider trading case

US prosecutors will not retry their insider trading case against a former manager at nonfungible token platform OpenSea after a federal appeals court overturned the convictions in July. On Wednesday, prosecutors told a Manhattan federal court that they entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with Nathaniel Chastain and will dismiss their case after the agreement ends in a month. In a letter, Manhattan US Attorney Jay Clayton said the decision was made based on Chastain already serving parts of his initial sentence, including three months behind bars, and that he agreed not to contest the forfeiture of 15.98 Ether (ETH) worth $47,330 that he allegedly made from insider trades. “The interest of the United States will be best served by deferring prosecution of this matter and not retrying the case,” Clayton wrote.
