As the FOMC meeting approaches, Ethereum's sentiment falls.

“Ethereum had an up and down Sunday, jumping above $1,640 before dipping back down to $1,540,” the market insight provider explained. The trading community is still skeptical of the hype and expects prices to fall ahead of the FOMC meeting. ETH is expected to remain volatile. The FOMC, as part of the Federal Reserve (Fed), determines the direction of monetary policy, and it has recently resorted to interest rate hikes. For example, interest rates were raised by 75 basis points (bps) last month, the largest increase in 28 years. With the FOMC meeting scheduled for July 27, all indicators point to a similar increase in interest rates. Mike McGlone, a senior commodity strategist at Bloomberg Intelligence, recently stated: “The Fed is slamming commodities and risk assets with a sledgehammer.” The three Cs - crude oil, copper, and corn - are down about 20% since the June 75 bps rate hike, and the aftermath of another 75 in July may be similar. The stock market could be more volatile than crude. Meanwhile, according to crypto analyst Ali Martinez, Ethereum should hold $1,550 in order to avoid a pullback because it is a significant support level. He mentioned: “According to transaction history, Ethereum formed a significant demand wall

Do You Think You Know Bitcoin? 4 Applications of Its Technology

What Is Blockchain and How Does It Work? This distributed technology — blockchain — is used by ALL sorts of cryptocurrencies to keep a secure and decentralized record of transactions. Blockchain is a distributed ledger that is shared among several computer network nodes. This means that this ledger is not solely held by anyone, but rather has member machines (or nodes) on the network, each with identical copies of the ledger. This makes any deliberate alterations or hacks impossible for anyone attempting to profit by monopolizing or hacking a blockchain network. Blockchain aids in the establishment of a transparent record order of events. No single node in the network may change the information. On blockchain, information is irreversible and tamper-proof. For example, suppose a hacker also runs a node on a blockchain and attempts to alter the blockchain and take cryptocurrency from everyone else; technically, the hacker will be unable to do so. If the hacker changed his or her own solitary copy, it would no longer be consistent with everyone elses copy. When everyone else compares their copies, they will see that this one copy stands out, and the hackers version of the chain will be discarded as a fraud and

Sources say Coinbase is under SEC investigation for its cryptocurrency listing.

According to three people familiar with the investigation, the crypto exchange platform is under investigation in the United States for inappropriately allowing Americans to trade digital assets that should have been registered as securities. According to Bloomberg, Coinbase has come under intense scrutiny from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) following the platforms growth of the number of tokens available for trading. This action comes at a critical time for Coinbase, which is still reeling from last weeks allegation of an insider trading conspiracy in which the SEC sued a former firm manager and two other people involved. Bloomberg reported that the SEC and Coinbase declined to comment. “Coinbase, the largest US trading platform, allows Americans to exchange over 150 tokens. If those products were declared securities, the company might have to register with the SEC as an exchange ”According to Bloomberg. The SEC is required to apply for a legal test to determine if a digital asset is a security. A token is generally considered to be SEC-regulated if it includes investors putting money up to fund a firm and profit. However, according to a recent article from Blockchain.News, Coinbases new derivatives section is attracting new retail traders who are interested in the crypto

Bitcoiner to search for 8,000 lost BTC with robots

Since realizing his error, Howells has petitioned the Newport City Council to allow him to retrieve the hard drive from the landfill, which is expected to hold 110,000 tons of waste. The initiative to unearth the waste is said to have received up to $11 million in venture capital funding. The two investors who have offered the funds, Hanspeter Jaberg and Karl Wendeborn, would not release them until Howells obtains City Council consent to dig up the property. “Its obviously a needle in a haystack, and its a very, very high-risk investment,” Jaberg added, and Howells acknowledged that he has not yet signed any definitive agreement with the backers. Howells has been on the City Councils tail to dig the site, but his request has been met with a succession of denials. The Council officials justify their stance by claiming that the excavation will pose ecological concerns, which Howells claims he and his team will work hard to mitigate. In addition to himself, Howells will sort through the waste with the assistance of human sorters, robot dogs, and an AI-powered scanner that resembles a conveyor belt. The team will also include data analysts. If the harddrive is located and the funds in it are recovered,
