Bitcoin Holds Above $77K Mark Amid Market Uncertainty

It seems that macroeconomic considerations are now influencing the shift in Bitcoins price, as it closely mirrored the US small-cap stock index. Concerns over a further price drop below $75,000 were stoked by $2 billion in outflows from US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs in the seven days before Tuesday. At the time of writing, Bitcoin was trading at $77,246, down 0.19% in the last 24 hours as per data from CMC, after briefly touching $78K mark. Market Beginning to Stablize But as Bitcoin (BTC) recovered the upper limits of its range highs, demand on Coinbase suggests that the market is beginning to stabilize. The Coinbase Premium Index has maintained an upward trend over the last 14 days, indicating consistent buyer demand, even though traders have taken $1.14 billion in gains, causing the daily Coinbase premium to hit a six-week low. May 19 saw the lowest reading of the Coinbase Premium Index since March 31st, falling to -0.087. The fact that Bitcoin was priced cheaper on Coinbase compared to Binance indicates that demand from purchasers in the US is weaker, as the negative premium indicates. With a price surge to $82,000 and a daily profit of 14,600 BTC ($1.14 billion) for holders on May 4, profit-taking

HYPE Outperformed Bitcoin and Ethereum in 2026...Heres Why

Hyperliquid price in USD YTD1. The January Baseline and February Accumulation HYPE opened the year trading flat near the $25.00 psychological support line. Volatility initially remained compressed before a surge in platform trading volume triggered a sharp vertical impulse toward $35.00 in early February. This move established a definitive macro-bottom that was never retested. 2. The Mid-Spring Consolidation Channel Throughout March and April, the token entered a broad, ascending re-accumulation channel. Every localized sell-off was met with intense spot buying pressure near the 50-day and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), which converged effectively around the $40.00 – $45.00 horizontal support zone. 3. The May Parabolic Expansion The final leg of the structure showcases an almost vertical price expansion starting in mid-May. HYPE broke out of its multi-week consolidation at $45.00, accelerating through its previous historic resistance barriers to touch an all-time high of $61.86. The sheer steepness of the final candle indicates intense institutional accumulation and massive short-side market liquidations. Why HYPE Outperformed the Market While technical setups explain the path of price action, fundamental triggers explain the velocity of the move. Several major real-world developments converged in May 2026 to fuel the HYPE engine: The Mother of All Short Squeezes According to derivatives data from on-chain analytics firms

XRP Elliott Wave Setup Targets $1.47 as Whales Accumulate 71M Coins

Will XRPs Much-Needed Breakout See the Light of Day? XRP is approaching a decisive technical inflection point as price compression, whale accumulation, and rising derivatives activity begin to align. According to analyst Dark Defender, the remains within a broader Elliott Wave structure, suggesting the underlying bullish framework is still intact despite the present price stagnation. He notes that XRP is now trading within a narrowing support–resistance apex, a setup that typically precedes a sharper directional move once compression hits the exit door. His outlook points to a potential expansion phase developing toward the end of May as volatility builds. From a price structure perspective, XRPs immediate support sits between $1.31 and $1.36, a zone that has repeatedly absorbed selling pressure in recent pullbacks. On the upside, resistance is clearly mapped at $1.47, followed by $1.88 and $3.56, each level representing progressively stronger confirmations of trend continuation if reclaimed. Currently, XRP is per CoinCodex data, effectively sitting on its key short-term support band and underscoring a tightly balanced market. Source: CoinCodex XRP Whales Go on a Buying Spree Taking on X, formerly Twitter, renowned crypto analyst Ali Martinez acknowledges that whales have accumulated in the past week, signaling steady absorption during a period of muted volatility. Interestingly, this type of accumulation

ECB climate nature risks: Frank Elderson warning for banks

The European Central Bank is sharpening its warning on ECB climate nature risks, arguing that climate change and biodiversity loss are no longer side issues for policymakers but direct threats to the euro area economy, banks, and the assets sitting on the Eurosystems balance sheet. That message came from Frank Elderson, an ECB Executive Board member and Vice-Chair of its Supervisory Board, in a speech on 21 May 2026 that brought inflation, banking supervision, litigation, and environmental stress into one financial-risk story. The core point was blunt: climate change already poses material risks to the European Union economy, and nature degradation is tightly bound up with that danger. It is a notable shift in emphasis. The ECB is not presenting climate and nature as abstract long-term concerns. Instead, it is treating them as factors that can shape price stability, loan quality, collateral risk, and financial stability now. Climate change is already hitting the euro area economy Eldersons speech framed recent damage across Europe as evidence that climate risks are already economic risks. The examples were concrete. Direct losses to infrastructure and assets in the EU were estimated at EUR 822 billion during 1980-2024. In Slovenia, intense floods in August 2023 caused direct damages estimated at

2026 FIFA World Cup Faces An Ebola Outbreak And Extreme Heat Threats

Amid an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the countrys national team squad will begin preparations for the World Cup in Belgium rather than Kinshasa, their capital. Although the World Health Organization has called the outbreak a “public health emergency of international concern” rather than a pandemic, the global football community is mindful of the impact it could have. Back in 2020, at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, a UEFA Champions League match between Liverpool and Atletico Madrid was identified as a superspreader event, whilst organizers of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar feared that people might not travel to the country. The U.S. has already restricted travelers from the DR Congo, though the country‘s overseas-based national team players won’t be affected. Still, any fans who travel from the central African nation will be, which means that it will have to be diaspora communities that give support to a team that is appearing in the World Cup for the first time since 1974. Such public health issues and the logistical challenges they pose are indicative of the risk landscape that organizers of the tournament are now having to confront. Successfully delivering sport mega events is logistically complex and requires a level of vigilance

BNB Price Prediction: $700 Break or $620 Collapse Within 10 Days

The Immediate Setup BNB is trading in no mans land at $651, caught between conflicting signals that have traders second-guessing every move. The token managed a modest 1.18% bounce in the last 24 hours, but this feels more like dead cat behavior than genuine bullish momentum. With the RSI parked at 53 and MACD histogram flatlining at zero, momentum has completely stalled out. The market is basically holding its breath, waiting for someone to make the first aggressive move. What‘s particularly telling is how BNB is hugging its short-term moving averages – trading just below the 7-day SMA at $651.81 while sitting above the 20-day at $649. This tight compression usually precedes explosive moves in either direction, and with daily volatility running at $17.65, we’re primed for a significant breakout within days. Key Levels Exposed The technical setup screams compression before expansion. BNB is trapped in a narrow band between immediate resistance at $658 and support at $643, but the real battle lines are drawn much wider. Blockchain.news technical analysis reveals the critical resistance cluster sits at $664-$684, where the upper Bollinger Band meets strong historical rejection zones. Below, the 50-day moving average at $630 represents the line in the sand for bulls. A clean

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the administration would continue targeting cartel-linked financial operations tied to fentanyl trafficking. In a statement released by the Treasury, Bessent said the government would not allow “narco-terrorists” to use financial networks to move drug-related proceeds into the United States. Among those added to the sanctions list was Armando de Jesus Ojeda Aviles, whom the Treasury accused of helping convert cash into cryptocurrency on behalf of the Sinaloa Cartel. The department also identified Jesus Alonso Aispuro Felix as an associate allegedly involved

Ebola Treatment Center Burns Near Heart Of Deadly Outbreak, Report Says (Live Updates)

Arsonists attacked an Ebola treatment center in Rwampara, one of the towns at the center of an ongoing and deadly disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, after locals were stopped from retrieving the body of a local man whod died of Ebola, the Associated Press reported Thursday. Copyright 2026 The Associated Press. All rights reserved Timeline Witnesses tell AP that objects inside the treatment center and the body of a person inside were set on fire by locals who became angry when they weren‘t allowed to retrieve the body of a friend who’d died (contact with the body of an Ebola victim is an easy way for the disease to spread, and authorities are handling burials whenever possible in the region). The World Health Organization reports there are more than 600 suspected cases and 148 suspected deaths from the ongoing Ebola outbreak, and those numbers are expected to rise. Reports emerge that a person has died of Ebola near the city of Bukavu, more than 300 miles from the outbreak‘s epicenter, highlighting officials’ fears that the outbreak is more widespread than official figures show. NQ100 testing highs again after 1st choppy retracement

The Nasdaq (NQ100) has been slowly correcting lower since reaching an all-time high (ATH) on May 14. Price has declined 1000 points before eventually finding new buyers. But the uptrend continuation seems to be slowing day on the daily chart Daily chart 5 days without a higher high Price action has failed to break the high for five days in a row. This is a warning signal that the uptrend is losing steam. The 6th day – tomorrow on Friday 22 May – could be crucial candlestick for understanding whether price will trend higher or retrace lower. Lets review the main scenarios: 1. If tomorrows daily candlestick is bearish: we expect the uptrend then to be temporarily over and a larger bearish retracement to take place (orange arrow). 2. Price action would at first decline towards the 21 ema zone (green shade), but a larger retracement to the 144-233 ema zone (blue shade) could take place once there is a 2nd bearish break below ET zone 8. 3. A bullish breakout could extend the uptrend (green arrows). 4. However, price action would need to stay above the highs (red box) to ensure that the breakout is not the end of the trend. A sideways pattern (pink arrow) is
