2 weeks left for Clarity: State of Crypto

The crypto industry, naturally, is urging passage. The common refrain online is that Clarity includes some investor protection rules and creates some structure for crypto products, while not passing the bill would mean there are no investor protections. If the bill is to pass the Senate before summer recess begins, the first thing to watch for is a motion to proceed on Monday or Tuesday. This kicks off the formal process. If the motion to proceed is filed by Wednesday, one individual following the process said, that would still give the Senate enough time to vote on the bill before August 7, the last day of the summer session. If the motion to proceed ripens — meaning its been an hour into the second day after the motion is filed, according to the Congressional Institute, a not-for-profit organization — there can be a cloture vote, most likely on the amendment in the nature of a substitute (i.e. the new text of the bill). If that passes, there can be another cloture vote later on for the actual passage of the bill. “Recess deadlines are powerful tools,” Kristin Smith, the president of the Solana Policy Institute, told CoinDesk. On a practical note, what this most

CZ Says Crypto Exchange Acquisitions Could Inherit Dangerous Security Flaws

CZ says crypto exchange acquisitions can inherit legacy security flaws, creating costly risks for buyers and users. Buying a crypto exchange may look like a quick way to gain market share, but it can also bring hidden risks. Changpeng Zhao, widely known as CZ, believes security should be the first concern in any acquisition. His latest comments focus on dangers that often remain buried beneath a platforms public image. According to Zhao, weak security inherited from a smaller exchange can become a costly problem for the buyer. Outdated Systems Could Become the Biggest Liability in Exchange M&A CZ argued that acquiring an exchange means taking ownership of far more than its customers and trading activity. Buyers also inherit ageing systems, outdated code, and security weaknesses built over many years. Fixing those issues after a deal closes can demand significant time and money. In some cases, rebuilding parts of the platform may be cheaper than repairing existing infrastructure. Earlier remarks from Zhao support that view. Back in February 2020, he said hackers often target smaller exchanges because they usually lack the same level of protection as larger competitors. Bigger platforms can devote more staff and funding to security, while smaller operators often work with tighter

Bitcoin Price Recovers Above $64,000 as Donald Trump Delays US Strikes on Iran

Bitcoin price is trading near $64,150 over the weekend after buyers failed to hold key resistance levels. The move came as President Donald Trump paused U.S. strikes on Iran while talks with Tehran continued. Trump said the U.S. remained “locked and loaded” but allowed backchannel diplomacy to continue after 13 straight nights of American bombing. Donald Trump Strike Pause Shapes Bitcoin Price Reaction Trump ordered the military to halt strikes on Friday night while senior officials maintained contact with Iranian counterparts. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio joined the diplomatic channel, with Donald Trump saying Tehran was “getting more serious” about talks. The president described two possible paths for the conflict, including a military exit or a negotiated deal. Earlier, he had warned of a “massive” infrastructure attack that could target Iranian bridges or power plants. Tensions had already widened after Iran-backed Houthi rebels attacked Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea. Brent crude moved above $100, while Iran targeted U.S. and allied installations in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Trump also said the U.S. would seize billions in frozen Iranian assets to cover damage to commercial ships. For Bitcoin traders, the pause reduced military escalation risk but did not remove geopolitical pressure. ETF

Dogecoin Price Prediction: Final Support Test Could Trigger a Major Rebound

Dogecoin is approaching a decisive long-term support zone near $0.056 as a monthly TD Sequential buy signal points to a possible reversal. Holding the area could open a recovery toward $0.16 and eventually $0.45, while a breakdown below $0.05 would weaken the bullish cycle setup. Dogecoin Nears Its Last Stand as Massive Triangle Tightens Dogecoin is approaching a critical long-term support area inside a multiyear contracting triangle. Analyst XForceGlobal said holding above the patterns invalidation level could preserve a highly speculative 10x-to-20x upside scenario based on cycle rotation and accumulation. DOGE weekly chart. Source: XForceGlobal/TradingView The chart places DOGE near $0.073 after a prolonged decline from its 2024 high. Price is moving toward the triangles rising lower boundary, which has supported the broader structure since the 2022 market low. Under the analysts Elliott Wave interpretation, Dogecoin may still complete several swings inside the formation before attempting a larger breakout. The projected path includes a rebound, another pullback and a final test of support before momentum expands. However, the bullish case depends on DOGE remaining above the protected wave-four low and the red invalidation area near $0.05. A decisive weekly breakdown below that region would invalidate the triangle setup and expose Dogecoin to a deeper decline. Meanwhile, a

Heres What Tesla Did With Its Bitcoin Holdings in Q2 2026

Did the company followed the current trend of reducing its BTC exposure? The leading electric vehicle manufacturer reported no changes to its Bitcoin holdings in the second quarter of the year, extending one of the longest uninterrupted corporate BTC streaks. Meanwhile, the same cannot be said about other major crypto corporate holders, while another one of Elon Musks companies, SpaceX, which went public recently, made a small BTC transfer, raising some questions. Tesla HODLs It‘s worth noting that Bitcoin was not mentioned extensively during the recently reported earnings call, but the absence of any transaction was enough to reassure investors that there’s no change in the company‘s holdings. This means that the EV maker’s crypto position remains the same – 11,509 BTC, making it one of the largest publicly traded corporate holders of the primary cryptocurrency. The Musk-led entity entered the Bitcoin market in early 2021, making a $1.5 billion purchase in one of the most influential corporate crypto investments ever announced. However, it later sold 10% of its holdings to test BTCs liquidity before disposing of 75% of its remaining position during the 2022 bear market. At the time, Musk said the firm needed to strengthen its cash position amid the growing economic uncertainty. Since

EIFs Megawatt Verdict: Not Every Bitcoin Mine Is Ready for AI

This article first appeared in Miner Weekly, a weekly newsletter by Blocksbridge Consulting curating the latest news in energy, compute, infrastructure, and data analysis from The Energy Mag. The original article can be viewed here. Across the EIF panels, generators, utilities, data-center developers, miners, investors and policymakers repeatedly returned to the same physical constraints: generation, interconnection queues, transmission, substations, cooling, equipment lead times, capital, permits and public support. The demand for compute may begin with models and chips, but delivering it ultimately requires electrons at a specific place, on a commercially useful timetable. No single part of the energy economy can solve that problem alone. Utilities are being asked to accommodate loads at a scale and speed they were not built to handle. Renewable developers need customers for output that would otherwise be curtailed. Power producers need confidence that new demand will support investment in generation. Data-center operators need firm capacity and redundancy. Investors want contracts capable of supporting billions of dollars in infrastructure. Local officials and residents want credible answers about rates, water, noise, taxes and jobs. Bitcoin mining entered that wider conversation as one of several bridges between energy and compute. Miners have spent years locating underused power, deploying modular loads

Bitcoin is about to give miners a 16% lifeline, but $19 billion in AI deals is luring them away anyway

Bitcoin could lower mining difficulty by roughly 16% when its next adjustment arrives around July 26, handing the machines that remain online a considerably larger expected share of the network‘s rewards while doing almost nothing to resolve the expensive power contracts, debt obligations and strategic pressures pushing some of the industry’s largest companies away from mining. The network already lowered difficulty by 5% at block 957,600 on July 11, bringing it to 127.17 trillion. Hashrate Index reported that hashprice, the daily revenue miners expect from one petahash per second of computing power, stood at $30.88 per PH/s/day on July 13, with a seven-day average of $30.39. That level was at or below breakeven for many operators depending on their power costs and machine models. While hashprice had recovered from the $27.60 level recorded around the beginning of July, it remains 37% below its October 2025 peak near $49.40. Advertise with CryptoSlate Bitcoin‘s protocol can automatically lower the computational burden required to produce blocks, but it can’t renegotiate a miners electricity contract, refinance convertible notes, restore the value of aging machines, or make volatile mining revenue more attractive than a multibillion-dollar AI lease. Bitcoin can repair its schedule, not miner balance sheets Bitcoin adjusts difficulty every 2,016
