Payments platform Decta explores stablecoin-enabled treasury settlement

Payments platform Decta will use USDC to settle its own funds internationally, bringing stablecoins into its back-end treasury operations. Decta said Tuesday that it will use OpenPayd, a financial infrastructure company, to convert company funds into USDC for international settlement, according to an announcement shared with Cointelegraph. “This is a proprietary treasury use case rather than a customer-facing payments flow,” Lux Thiagarajah, chief commercial officer at OpenPayd, told Cointelegraph. “Decta transfers its own funds into OpenPayd‘s regulated infrastructure, where they are converted into USDC via OpenPayd’s over-the-counter capabilities to support international operational settlements,” he added. The integration shows how stablecoins are moving into traditional payments infrastructure as a tool for internal treasury and liquidity management, without making stablecoins part of its customer-facing payment services. Stablecoins move into payments firms treasury operations Decta said the integration will help it move funds between its entities internationally, manage liquidity and streamline treasury operations. Scott Dawson, CEO of Decta UK, said the company wants technology to make its financial operations faster, simpler and more resilient while maintaining its existing controls and regulatory discipline. Founded in 2015 in London, Decta is a payments platform that provides payment processing, acquiring, card issuing, banking and other financial infrastructure to businesses. BTCPay offers $190,000 bounty after bitcoin payment servers drained in exploit

SummaryBTCPay Server is offering a bounty of 10% of any recovered stolen bitcoin, up to 3 BTC, to anyone with information leading to the funds return, including the attacker. The theft stemmed from a vulnerability that let attackers obtain LND Lightning node credentials and drain connected wallets, affecting merchants including Foundation and Citadel21.BTCPay has enlisted exchanges, blockchain analytics firms and law enforcement to help trace the funds, while urging merchants to report losses and keep most holdings in cold storage. The flaw was identified by researchers tied to the volunteer Bitcoin Red Team, which is using AI tools to scan bitcoin projects for bugs, and BTCPay is compensating them with BTC donations. Node provider BTCPay Server said Tuesday it is funding a bounty for the return of bitcoin stolen from merchants last week, offering 10% of whatever is recovered up to a maximum of 3 BTC, worth roughly $190,000 at current prices. The offer is open to anyone with useful information, including the attacker. The project asked people to write to its security address and said secure channels are available on request. If several reports lead to a recovery, the bounty will be split with the victims according to how much each lost and how

The Billionaire Who Fell Naked from the 30th Floor: A Profile of the Crypto Tycoon’s Mysterious Deat

At 4:30 a.m. on August 7, 2026, beneath the Jade Park apartment building in Asunción, Paraguay, the body of a naked man was found lying quietly on the ground, covered with a black plastic bag. He had fallen from the 30th floor. The apartment door on the 30th floor was left open, and the interior was found in complete disarray. The 29-year-old Brazilian girlfriend, who lived on the 27th floor, told police officers who arrived to collect evidence: “I dont know anything.” The deceased was Harry Chun Tak Yeh, whose Chinese name was Ye Junde. He was an early Bitcoin OG who entered the market in 2013, when Bitcoin was still around $60. He was the founder of Quantum Fintech Group and the operator behind Tomb Finance. He once claimed to manage $2.4 billion in assets and pushed Tomb Finance to a peak market capitalization of $1.6 billion. Then, the project went to zero — and so did the man. This was not the first case, and it certainly will not be the last. Today, we take a look at the “spectacular deaths” of major figures in the crypto industry over the past decade. We rank them based on levels of mystery, personal wrongdoing, and impact.

CLARITY Act gets White House push before Sept. 15 vote

White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt said on Aug. 11 that the Trump administration remains committed to getting the CLARITY Act through Congress in September. In a post, Witt said the administration is “fully committed to getting the Clarity Act across the finish line in September.” His statement came after Senate Majority Leader John Thune filed cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 3633. Witt said negotiations with Democrats would continue through the vote. He also blamed Democratic delays for leaving the U.S. behind in digital assets and weakening efforts against crypto crime. That is the administrations position, rather than a settled account of why the bill stalled. A Reuters report found that some Republicans also have concerns involving stablecoin rewards, community bank deposits and money laundering protections. CLARITY Act now faces a Sept. 15 procedural test The Senate Daily Press schedule says lawmakers return for regular business on Sept. 14. The cloture motion covering H.R. 3633 will then ripen at 2:15 p.m. ET on Sept. 15. The vote concerns whether the Senate proceeds with consideration of the legislation. It is not a final passage vote. The measure needs 60 votes to clear the cloture threshold. As crypto.news reported in earlier September vote coverage,

Bitcoins BIP-110 fork is 300 blocks behind BTC and six years from fixing itself

Bitcoins ledger is a chain of blocks, each one a batch of transactions added by miners, firms running warehouses of specialised computers that compete to produce the next one. They are paid in newly issued bitcoin plus the fees attached to those transactions, and a block arrives roughly every ten minutes. That ten-minute pace is not automatic. The network sets a difficulty level, which is how much computing work a miner must do to produce a valid block, and recalculates it every 2,016 blocks. If blocks have been arriving too fast, the work gets harder. Too slow, and it gets easier. At normal speed, 2,016 blocks takes about two weeks. The longer the fork sits still, the further away its escape gets. (Shaurya Malwa/CoinDesk) Two blocks were produced on that chain. Then it stopped, because mining it costs exactly what mining bitcoin costs — as both chains having inherited the same difficulty when they parted, while paying in a coin that has no market, no exchange listing and no buyers. It also cannot make mining easier on itself without first completing 2,016 blocks at its current pace. A live monitor now estimates that adjustment at 6.3 years away, up from 350 days on Sunday. The number

Indonesian Stocks Near Bull Market as DCI Indonesia Profit Jumps 19%

Indonesian stocks are edging back toward bull-market territory, and one of the rallys clearest beneficiaries is an AU data center operator whose earnings are compounding regardless of what the rupiah does next. The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) has climbed 20% from its early-June low. That rebound follows a rough start to 2026, with the index still down 25% year to date, making it the worst-performing major benchmark globally. Sponsored Sponsored The Rallys Foundations Bank Indonesia raised rates by a combined 100 basis points in May and June, MSCI postponed a planned review of the countrys market status until November, and S&P Global Ratings affirmed the sovereign credit rating. President Prabowo Subianto‘s decision to scale back a costly free-meals program has also eased fears of fiscal slippage. Indonesia’s economy grew 5.29% year over year in the second quarter, beating the 5.14% median estimate in a Bloomberg survey. That backdrop is macro relief, not necessarily a structural bull case. DCI Indonesia is where the two stories meet. Where DCI Indonesia Fits DCI Indonesia is the country‘s largest listed data center operator has profited from the AI infrastructure boom and its first-half results show why investors keep buying it through the broader market’s turmoil. OpenAI Skips Outside Buyers for $7 Billion Tender as IPO Preparation Ramps Up

OpenAI used its own cash, not outside investors, to buy back roughly $7 billion in employee shares, according to Bloomberg. The deal holds the companys valuation flat at $852 billion ahead of a possible stock market listing. OpenAI Breaks From Its Own Pattern A tender offer lets a company or investor buy back existing shares from employees. OpenAI has run investor-funded versions before, including a 2023 tender offer that tripled its valuation to $86 billion. Sponsored Sponsored Its largest prior deal came in October 2025. Thrive Capital, SoftBank, and others bought $6.6 billion in employee shares, valuing OpenAI near $500 billion. OpenAI just ran a $7B employee tender at an $852B valuation — self-funded, no new outside capital. Clear IPO prep move. Clean headline. — Jordan Blake (@nickdannunzio) August 10, 2026 By March 2026, a $122 billion funding round pushed that valuation to $852 billion. OpenAI confirmed the same $852 billion figure now, months after it also filed a confidential IPO filing with regulators. Why OpenAI Skipped the Investors Funding the buyback itself keeps OpenAIs cap table free of new outside holders right before a potential listing. It also signals the company has enough cash on hand after its March raise. It does not need fresh investor capital for this deal. The
