Bitcoin Market Absorbs Record $1.5 Billion Anthropic Copyright Ruling

Crypto News A US federal judge granted final approval to Anthropics $1.5 billion settlement with authors this week, finalizing the largest known payout in an American copyright case and sending a costly signal across the AI and crypto sectors. Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin signed the order on Monday, overruling objections that the figure was too low. The decision matters for a market where AI-themed tokens and the broader altcoin complex increasingly track the fortunes of large language-model developers. Bitcoin (BTC) held near $66,000 as the ruling landed, with trader sentiment stuck in extreme fear and capital rotating cautiously between technology equities and digital assets. The dispute began in 2024, when a group of authors sued Anthropic, alleging the company used pirated copies of their books to train Claude, the large language model that powers its chatbot and increasingly its coding tools. The complaint placed Anthropic among a widening cohort of AI developers — builders of everything from consumer chatbots to AI trading bots — facing legal exposure over the data used to train their systems. Anthropic argued that ingesting published books to build a model constituted fair use, a defense that would later shape both the litigation and the settlement framework the court

Top 3 Altcoins to Watch For Fourth Week of July 2026

Three altcoins to watch this week: Pump.fun (PUMP) leads with a sharp breakout after gaining 34% in seven days. Pi Network (PI) rebounds from its all-time low, while Injective (INJ) climbs its Fibonacci ladder. However, the three charts tell different stories about momentum. The table below summarizes where each token stands.CoinPrice7-DayTrendRSIPUMP$0.00198+34%Bullish70PI$0.100+24%Bearish (recovering)~50INJ$5.27+11%Bullish~58 PUMP Breaks Out Above 0.382 Fibonacci Level Pump.fun trades near $0.00195 after a 34% weekly gain, the strongest of the three. The token surged almost 20% on July 19 alone. It has cleared two Fibonacci levels, the 0.236 at $0.00167 and the 0.382 near $0.00200. Price also broke above the previous swing high around $0.0018. The Bollinger Bands are expanding, and the price rides the upper band. This pattern often signals the start of a fresh uptrend. PUMP daily chart Source: Tradingview The token remains tied to activity on its Solana launchpad. However, the relative strength index (RSI) sits at 70, on the edge of overbought territory. A move back below the 0.236 level would weaken the bullish case. Pi Network Rebounds From Record Low but Stays Bearish In contrast to PUMP, Pi Network shows strength without a healthy structure. PI trades near $0.100, up about 24% for the week. The token set a record low

New Zealand Dollar gathers strength above 0.5850 as CPI inflation data bolster RBNZ rate hike bets

The NZD/USD pair gains traction to around 0.5860 during the early European trading hours on Tuesday. Hotter New Zealand inflation data provide some support to the New Zealand Dollar (NZD) against the US Dollar (USD). The US ADP Employment report will be published later on Tuesday. New Zealands Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 1.5% QoQ in the three months ended June, with the annual inflation rate rising to 4.1% from 3.1% in the previous reading, Statistics New Zealand revealed on Tuesday. It was the highest annual rate since December 2023, and the quarterly increase was the highest since September 2023. The Kiwi strengthens against the USD following the data as money markets solidified expectations the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) will raise rates again. Traders expect a follow-up hike in either October or December and another one in February, according to Bloomberg. On the US front, signs of cooling US inflation data might lower the possibility of a US rate hike later this year, weighing on the Greenback. Markets continue to anticipate no change to rates at the Feds next meeting on July 29, with Fed funds futures pricing an implied 84.5% possibility of a hold, compared to a 61.5% chance a

BNB Price Prediction: $585 or Flush — The SMA 50 Showdown That Decides July

Felix Pinkston Jul 21, 2026 07:13 BNB is coiling at $575 with its MACD flatlined and three-quarters of the market already long — if it cant muscle through the $580–$582 resistance cluster within 48 hours, that crowded trade become… The Immediate Setup BNB is doing something quietly interesting at $575.71 this morning. It has reclaimed both its 7- and 20-day moving averages, the intraday low held cleanly above $563, and the stochastic oscillator is curling upward with %K crossing above %D. On the surface, this looks like a market trying to grind higher. Dont get comfortable. The MACD histogram has zeroed out completely — not turning positive, not reversing lower, just dead flat. That is not a launch pad. That is a market catching its breath after a distributional drift, and the 50-day SMA sitting at $582.18 is looming directly overhead like a ceiling. BNB has not been able to sustain a close above that level, and with the 200-day SMA all the way up at $661.32, the macro trend is unambiguously broken. This is a recovery attempt inside a larger downtrend, and every trader in the room needs to price that risk into their position sizing. The setup for the next 24–48 hours is binary:

Brent: Geopolitics weigh on prices – ING

ING strategists Warren Patterson and Ewa Manthey note Brent retreated below $90/bbl as hopes for US–Iran de-escalation offset rising supply risks. They highlight reports of a proposed 10‑day ceasefire and ongoing large divisions between the US and Iran. At the same time, a Houthi-declared naval blockade threatens Saudi exports via the Red Sea, though current price action suggests markets doubt its effectiveness. Brent pressured by mixed risk signals “Oil prices closed higher yesterday but retreated from session peaks, leaving Brent back below $90/bbl by the close. Prices are trending lower in early morning trading today. Theres some hope of de-escalation between the US and Iran.” “Reports are that mediators are proposing a 10-day ceasefire, which could put the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) back on track. This wont be an easy task. Large divisions remain between the US and Iran.” “Additionally, the Houthis in Yemen announced a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia, putting oil supply at increased risk. Since disruptions hit the Persian Gulf, the Saudis have increased exports from Yanbu in the Red Sea, shipping around 4.6m b/d of crude in June, up from around 1.3m b/d at the start of the year. An effective blockade would prevent oil flows to Asia moving south

Bybit Launches RLUSD Hold & Earn with Zero Maker Fees, Pushing Stablecoin Yield Competition

Bybit is trying to turn a single stablecoin into a liquidity magnet. The exchange, the worlds second-largest by trading volume, launched a limited-time $RLUSD Hold & Earn program that combines boosted annual percentage rates with zero maker fees on spot trading pairs that include the Ripple-issued stablecoin, the announcement confirmed. The move targets users who want yield on idle stablecoin balances without moving funds to DeFi protocols. $RLUSD is Ripples dollar-pegged stablecoin, which has been steadily integrated into trading infrastructure since its launch. Bybit already lists it, and the new Hold & Earn product lets users lock $RLUSD for a period to earn a boosted yield, while the simultaneous zero maker fee applies to $RLUSD spot pairs—a clear bid to attract market makers and tighten order books. The program is explicitly time-limited, though the duration was not disclosed. Competing for Stablecoin Liquidity Centralized exchanges are in a quiet but fierce race to attract stablecoin deposits. Binance, Coinbase, and Bybit each run yield programs tied to different dollar-pegged tokens. $RLUSD gives Bybit an asset that is still building liquidity, and pairing a deposit incentive with zero maker fees creates a short-term boost that can reshuffle market share. The logic is simple: liquidity draws more

Grayscale plans regular cash payouts from ETH, SOL staking rewards

Asset manager Grayscale plans to establish regular cash distributions from rewards generated by its Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL) staking exchange-traded products (ETPs), giving holders recurring access to yield generated by underlying assets. In Form 8-K filings submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Grayscale said it intends to amend the trust agreements governing the Grayscale Solana Staking ETF (GSOL) and the Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF (ETHE) around Aug. 7. The amendments would require each trust to convert staking rewards into cash no less often than quarterly and distribute net proceeds to shareholders. The framework could make staking returns more accessible to traditional investors by delivering cash rewards through broker-held products, eliminating the need for shareholders to hold crypto, pick validators and manage staking operations. However, Grayscale said distribution amounts cannot be predicted as they will depend on the staking rewards during each period and expenses deducted by the trusts. Grayscale made its first ETHE staking distribution on Jan. 5, paying shareholders about $0.08 per share from the sale of rewards. The asset manager enabled staking for its ETH and SOL products on Oct. 6, 2025, becoming the first US crypto fund issuer to add staking to spot crypto ETPs. ETHE ended

Indian Rupee gains on Middle East peace hopes

The Indian Rupee (INR) opens higher against the US Dollar on Tuesday. The USD/INR pair corrects to near 96.34 from its two-month high of 96.76 posted on Monday, as fresh hopes of de-escalation in military aggression between the United States (US) and Iran have offered support to the Indian currency. The emergence of hopes for Middle East peace has resulted in a pause in the oil price rally, a scenario that offers support to currencies from economies, such as India, which rely heavily on oil imports to meet their energy needs. In the opening trade, the MCX Crude Oil contract expiring on August 19 is marginally down to near Rs. 7,945. On Monday, the crude oil price corrected sharply after posting a fresh five-week high at Rs. 8,158. Iran was offered 10-day ceasefire proposal with US On Monday, a senior Iranian official confirmed receiving a proposal of a 10-day cessation of strikes from mediators to find ways to revive the interim deal with the US. This led to financial markets regaining confidence that negotiations between nations are still active. Earlier in the day, an Axios report also showed that US President Donald Trump will either accept the 10-day ceasefire with Iran and resume negotiations toward

Democrats added certain consumer protection rules to CLARITY: Coinbase exec

As lawmakers in the US Senate are likely to vote soon on the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, representatives from advocacy organizations and companies are providing details of closed-door negotiations over the bill, which is expected to be the most comprehensive piece of legislation affecting the crypto industry. In a Monday CNBC interview, Coinbase vice chair Ryan VanGrack said while the final negotiations over text of the CLARITY Act were taking place in the Senate, Democratic lawmakers had added additional protections for customers to give what he called “more teeth” to the legislation. He did not explicitly mention any progress on adding ethics provisions to the bill, which many Democrats said will be necessary for their votes. “[A]t the end of the day, this is about customer protections,” said VanGrack. “The status quo lacks this infrastructure, lacks these protections, and the Democrats used this opportunity, wisely, to make sure that customers were first and foremost in [this bill].” Notably, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong may have contributed to a delay for a markup of an earlier version of the bill in the Senate Banking Committee, when he announced in January that the exchange could not support the legislation as written. Several Coinbase executives
