Bitcoin Faces Brutal Rejection at $80K, but Bulls Remain Defiant

Resumo:Bitcoin made two attempts to break the $80,000 psychological barrier, but aggressive selling below the threshold triggered a sharp intraday pullback to around $78,400 before recovering above $79,000. Despite the steep drop, analysts note unusually impatient buyer behavior, with dip-buyers stepping in early rather than waiting for deeper capitulation. On-chain data from Glassnode confirms this urgency, and the Coinbase Bitcoin Premium has turned positive for the first time in three and a half months, signaling renewed U.S. demand. Market observers interpret these dynamics as evidence that bullish sentiment remains largely intact despite the brutal rejection at the key price level.

  • Impatient buyers and renewed U.S. demand

Bitcoins march toward the historic $80,000 milestone hit a brick wall today: immense sell pressure triggered a sharp intraday pullback.

However, despite the steep drop, market metrics and aggressive dip-buying indicate that bullish sentiment remains largely unshaken.

The $80,000 psychological barrier

Bitcoin bulls made two distinct attempts to breach the $80,000 level earlier today. The price action spiked toward the major resistance line just before 11:30 and again shortly after 12:15, only to be met with aggressive selling right below the threshold.

Market analyst James Stanley has noted that the asset “wicked right underneath the level and then snap[ped] back.”

After failing to hold the $79,500 support level, the price cascaded down. Selling accelerated until Bitcoin found a local bottom just above $78,400 around 13:30, before mounting a steady recovery back above the $79,000 mark.

Impatient buyers and renewed U.S. demand

Despite the swift $1,500 intraday drop, market observers are noting highly unusual buyer behavior. Instead of waiting for deeper capitulation or better entries in the lower $70,000s, buyers are aggressively stepping in to front-run the market.

On-chain analyst Rafael (@n3ocortex), citing Glassnode data, remarked on this phenomenon. “Buyers have stopped waiting for a better price,” he stated. “Haven‘t seen them this impatient in years.” This urgency explains the rapid V-shaped recovery seen on the right side of the chart, where consecutive bullish candles quickly erased a significant portion of the morning’s losses.

This buying pressure is being corroborated by changing exchange dynamics. According to market commentator Ted (@TedPillows), the Coinbase Bitcoin Premium is no longer negative for the first time in three and a half months.
