OCEEF and Polygon Collaborate on Ocean Conservation Efforts

Resumo:On Thursday, the Ocean Conservation Exploration and Education Foundation (OCEEF) and decentralized Ethereum scaling platform Polygon launched their partnership to advance ocean literacy by developing new methods for exposing people to deep-sea missions.

As one of the world's most cutting-edge ocean research vessels, the RV Odyssey, our partnership seeks to provide users with participatory experiences through a governance system where they may impact major decisions.

Tweeted by Polygon:

“A new wave in ocean conservation @oceef_, a world-class ocean conservation NGO, is working with #Polygon towards a next-gen ocean conservation initiative...Participants will be able to explore all of the ship's facilities and real-time data via immersive, interactive experiences in the Metaverse.”

Additionally, Polygon claimed that this product would've been funded by the sale of NFTs and that OCEEF would gain from increased engagement thanks to Polygon's distributed governance platform.

It is argued that Polygon assists in democratizing entry to RV Odyssey by utilizing Metaverse and other Web3 features. With this, participants can plan the future course of the ship, conduct research, and even take part in mission-related activities.

“Using our Polygon partnership and its carbon-neutral tech as a launchpad, we will be using technology to democratize access to the vessel through multiple Web3 platforms as well as provide participants with the ability to help decide the vessel's future itinerary and research,” during the Polygon-hosted Green Blockchain Summit 2.0, OCEEF's Alex Moukas, the founder, remarked.

Participants will also be able to contribute to decisions on missions, participation, and locations through OCEEF. Sandeep Nailwal, a co-founder of Polygon, discussed the issue and said the following:

“Being able to facilitate a global endeavor such as the one that OCEEF is undertaking is very humbling. I know that our technology is up to the task of bringing these types of immersive, educational, and change-making experiences to people all over the globe.”

The core team of Polygon made the pledge to become carbon-negative by the end of the year and promised $20 million to climate-related projects in April. Since that time, Polygon has removed 104,794 tonnes of greenhouse emissions, which is greater than the network's whole historical CO2 debt.

As a reminder, WikiBit is ready to help you search the qualifications and reputation of projects in a bid to protect you from hidden dangers in this risky industry!
