New XRPL Version Here: 6 Definitive Upgrades Every XRP Holder Needs to Know

요약:XRP Ledger developers have released v3.3.0, launching validator voting on six amendments that could reshape the network. The headline feature, Confidential Transfer, encrypts balances and transfers of Multi-Purpose Tokens, addressing privacy concerns for businesses and large investors. Other proposals include Batch for atomic execution of up to eight operations, Permission Delegation for secure cold-storage management, Sponsor to cover user fees, Dynamic MPT for flexible token compliance, and FixCleanup bug fixes. Infrastructure gains include 10–15% lower RAM usage and faster synchronization. For these changes to take effect, validators must maintain at least 80% approval for two weeks, marking a potentially historic transition.

XRP Ledger developers have officially released the major v3.3.0 update and launched validator voting on six key amendments that could fundamentally change the rules of the game for all network participants.

XRPL Foundation representative Vet has already called the release “historic and huge” for the entire ecosystem, bringing necessary elements for the XRP-focused network to make a major push toward privacy, institutional trading, and infrastructure optimization.

What the v3.3.0 Release Brings to XRP Ledger

The main feature of the update is the introduction of the Confidential Transfer amendment — the first privacy tool built directly into the XRPL protocol. The feature fully encrypts balances and transfers of Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs), which removes a key barrier for businesses and large investors: the size of their transactions and account balances can now be hidden from outside observers directly at the blockchain level.

Beyond privacy, the update changes transaction mechanics and capital management. In particular, the Batch amendment allows up to eight operations to be combined into a single package that is executed atomically — either everything goes through together or nothing does.

As Vet notes, this opens the door to secure, trustless swaps and professional over-the-counter (OTC) trading.

At the same time, the issue of security for large investors is addressed through Permission Delegation. It allows funds to keep their main assets in cold storage while delegating to operational wallets the authority to send only specific types of transactions.

The Sponsor amendment addresses the problem of onboarding new users by allowing applications to fully cover network fees and reserves on behalf of their clients.

For digital asset issuers, developers introduced the Dynamic MPT amendment, allowing token properties to be changed “on the fly” to comply with regulatory requirements, while technical stability has been reinforced by the FixCleanup bug-fix package.

Finally, the update also optimizes the infrastructure itself — node RAM consumption has dropped by at least 10–15%, while node synchronization has become significantly faster, helping protect the network from slowdowns during peak loads.

The fate of the update now depends entirely on the network's validators. For the amendments to take effect, they must receive and maintain at least 80% approval from validators for two weeks.

If consensus is reached, XRP Ledger will officially complete one of the largest technological transitions in its history.
