The November listing, the country’s second-biggest, raised $575 million and propelled the patriarch back into the ranks of Thailand‘s richest after a two-year gap. He’s at No. 30 with a net worth of $1.2 billion. Betagro now has its sights set on becoming a leader in the global food industry. The company plans to pump some of the IPO proceeds into ramping up production and building more farms and factories in Thailand and overseas—in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
