Reason for this visit

As one of the worlds largest markets, Japan is also one of the first countries putting cryptocurrency under regulation. So there are plenty of cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan, as well as many overseas exchanges seeking to access the market. In order to help investors to get a more comprehensive understanding of the country's cryptocurrency exchanges, WikiBit survey team will go to Japan for on-site visits to local exchanges.

On-site visit

In this issue, the investigation team went to Tokyo, Japan to visit the cryptocurrency exchange OKCOIN (licensee: OK Coin Japan Co., Ltd.) as planned according to its registered regulatory address that 1-2-10 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

The survey team arrived at the destination in a business center of Toranomon, Minato-ku on March 1, 2023, where modern commercial Toranomon Sakurada-Dori Building is situated, with LAWSON on the ground floor.

After entering the building, the investigators found from company directory that the 5/F was occupied by the exchange OKCOIN (OK Coin Japan Co., Ltd.).

And then, the survey team arrived at the 5th floor, and spotted the name of OKCOIN and OK Coin Japan Co., Ltd. at the target office, where they were operating business normally with related cryptocurrency document on the door. Without receptionist or security guard at the entrance, people were allowed to enter.

After an on-site investigation, it is confirmed that the companys real business address is in line with that it registered.

Conclusion

The survey personnel went to Tokyo, Japan to visit the cryptocurrency exchange OKCOIN as scheduled, and found the companys physical business office. And investors are advised to make a sensible choice based on a comprehensive consideration.
