A Visit to COINTIGER in US - No Office Found

East Asia and North America (dominated by the United States) are home to the world‘s two largest cryptocurrency exchange markets, with the trading volume making up nearly half of that in the global crypto market. In contrast with many exchanges in East Asia, the crypto platforms in the US are more strictly regulated. In the meantime, Coinbase, the world’s top one cryptocurrency exchange, is based in the US. In an attempt to help investors to get a more comprehensive understanding of the exchanges in the US, WikiBit survey team decides to go to the country for on-site visits to local companies.
On-site visit
In this issue, the survey team went to the US to visit cryptocurrency exchange COINTIGER as planned according to its regulatory address that 1709 E. Del Amo Blvd, Carson, California.
The investigators came to 1709 East Del Amo Boulevard in Carson of California, the US on October 3, 2023, and located a low-rise building featuring an old façade in a residential area. With some detached coating and a closed door, the building looked like deserted for quite a long time.
The survey personnel managed to open the door of the building for further investigation, and spotted that the place appeared to be a Chinese Art/Antique Gallery, rather than an office of company. There was no name of any company nor logo or clue relating to COINTIGER. According to the staff working in the building, they just moved in the place which had been vacant for a long time. The investigation team searched around the area, where the residents said that they had no idea about the office of cryptocurrency exchange COINTIGER.
Through an on-site investigation, it is confirmed that the company doesnt have a presence at the location.
Conclusion
The survey team went to the US to visit cryptocurrency exchange COINTIGER, but didnt find the company at its regulatory address. This suggests that the company might just register at the place without a physical business office. Therefore, investors should be cautious in choosing the exchange.
