Reason for this visit

The Crypto market in the UK is one of the world‘s most active liquid markets. According to the data released by CryptoCompare, the UK ranks 11th in the transactions in the most active Bitcoin market, with the majority of Brits buying cryptocurrencies through online cryptocurrency exchanges. To help investors have a comprehensive understanding of the country’s exchanges, WikiBit survey team will go to UK for on-site visits to the local companies.

On-site visit

The survey team visited cryptocurrency exchange LCG (licensee: London Capital Croup) in London according to its regulatory address that 3rd Floor, 80 Cheapside, London, EC2V 6EE, United Kingdom.

The investigators arrived at the destination in a primary business area of downtown London on June 30, where an independent commercial building was situated with dry hanging stone and glass curtain façade featuring simple and modern style. There were huge crowds of people in the busy streets nearby in a clean environment.

After entering the building, the investigators found from the company directory in the lobby that companies such as “Peterhouse Capital”, “Cairn Financial”, and “Client Server” were positioned on the 3rd floor, without any information about LCG in the building.

Through an on-site investigation, it is confirmed that LCG doesnt have a physical presence at the location.

Conclusion

The survey personnel went to London, UK to visit the cryptocurrency exchange LCG as planned, but didn‘t find the company at its regulatory address. It suggests that the company doesn’t have a physical business office at the place. Therefore, investors are advised to choose the exchange cautiously.
