Reason for this visit

Canada is one of the most “crypto-friendly” countries in the world. Local cryptocurrency exchanges have been classified as institutions that provide financial services since the country passed a bill to completely legalize cryptocurrency in June 2020. As a result, Canada becomes the market that global crypto exchanges are competing for. To help investors get a more comprehensive understanding of the exchanges in Canada, WikiBit survey team decided to go to the country for on-site visits to local companies.

On-site visit

In this issue, the investigators went to Canada to visit the cryptocurrency exchange bitcoin CANADA as planned according to its regulatory address that Suite 1103 - 11871 Horseshoe Way, Richmond, BC, Canada V7A5H5.

The survey personnel arrived at 11871 Horseshoe Way in British Columbia, Canada on October 25, 2023, and located a low-rise building beside a highway which looked less busy.

After accessing the building, the investigation team didn‘t spot any directory in the lobby, except for a reception area and security guards, and then reached suite 1103 with the company name of “INC BUSINESS LAWYERS” on its door. And there wasn’t any related company name nor logo of bitcoin CANADA.

Through an on-site investigation, it is confirmed that bitcoin CANADA doesnt have a presence at the location.

Conclusion

The survey team went to Canada to visit cryptocurrency exchange bitcoin CANADA, but didnt find the company at its regulatory address. This suggests that the company may just register at the place without a physical business office. Therefore, investors are advised to choose the exchange cautiously.
