Pando Solana ETF 2831.HK: Hong Kong Listing, Fees, Custody and Risks

الملخص:Pando’s Solana ETF is scheduled for October 13 on HKEX. Its 0.60% management fee differs from 1.60% estimated ongoing charges.

Pando Finance's Solana exchange-traded fund, ticker 2831.HK, is scheduled to begin trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on October 13, 2026. At the 08:49 Hong Kong-time research cutoff, the date was confirmed by the issuer, but an opening trade, first-day turnover and final initial assets could not yet be verified. Describing the listing as completed would run ahead of the evidence.

This is Hong Kong's second direct-exposure Solana ETF rather than the first. That distinction matters because it creates a competitive comparison: investors now need to assess more than whether a broker account can give them exposure to SOL. They must compare ongoing costs, custody, trading spreads and the fund's treatment of staking.

Read the fee disclosure beyond the 0.60% headline

Pando's product documents state an annual management fee of 0.60% and estimated annual ongoing charges of 1.60%. The fund reports a cap at the estimated ongoing-charge level for the specified period ending October 13, 2027. These figures are not a pair of charges to add together: ongoing charges represent a broader measure that includes the management fee along with other eligible fund expenses.

At a constant hypothetical investment value of HK$100,000, 0.60% corresponds to HK$600 per year and 1.60% to HK$1,600 per year. This simplified multiplication isolates percentage costs and assumes the same portfolio value for a full year; it is not a forecast of actual fund expenses or investor performance. Exchange commissions, bid–ask spreads, tracking differences and tax treatment can change the realized cost. Paying the lower management fee does not necessarily produce the lowest all-in ownership cost.

Shares are listed for Hong Kong dollar trading in lots of 100. The product tracks the CME CF Solana-Dollar Reference Rate's Asia-Pacific variant, which means the benchmark's valuation time may differ from a trader's preferred global exchange snapshot. A fund's share price can trade above or below its net asset value, particularly before meaningful market-maker liquidity develops.

Direct SOL exposure without staking yield

The fund is designed to hold SOL directly rather than buy a tokenized claim on a separate synthetic index. Pando identifies a custodian and underlying virtual-asset trading infrastructure in its product materials. Its stated approach does not include staking its Solana holdings. An investor consequently receives exposure to the spot price through fund shares, not the full set of economic opportunities available to a person who directly controls and stakes tokens.

The trade-off is operational simplicity. Brokerage investors do not need to maintain a personal wallet or directly manage staking keys. In exchange, they face fund fees, market hours, authorized-participant operations and custodial arrangements that are different from self-custody. Neither method removes exposure to SOL price volatility, Solana network disruptions or potential digital-asset trading-platform failures.

The first real test is the secondary market

Pando competes with Hong Kong's existing ChinaAMC Solana product. ChinaAMC's listed-class key-facts statement dated October 22, 2025 discloses a 0.99% management fee, versus Pando's stated 0.60%. The 0.39 percentage-point difference compares those disclosed management fees alone. Investors should confirm ChinaAMC's current terms in its latest documents; this historical disclosure does not verify an unchanged fee today. It is not an apples-to-apples comparison of total expenses until both products' ongoing charges are evaluated consistently.

During the first days, the more useful observations will be the fund's actual AUM, shares outstanding, bid–ask spread, market depth, daily turnover and tracking difference against the stated benchmark. A headline about the number of ETF listings cannot establish net inflows or broad institutional demand. Similarly, creation of more fund access does not mechanically require a sustained increase in SOL prices.

Pando's second-entrant status is meaningful for Hong Kong's regulated investment menu. Whether it becomes economically meaningful for Solana depends on real subscriptions, reliable market making and how much investors are willing to pay for this particular route to exposure.
