Additionally, congressional offices have made inquiries about a conversation that reportedly took place on the OpenAI platform ChatGPT, in which Binance's founder CZ was said to have built a social media platform for the China National Petroleum Corporation.
The Chief Strategy Officer of Binance, Patrick Hillman, publicly criticized ChatGPT for disclosing the contents of their conversation. Hillman accused ChatGPT of obtaining information from a fraudulent LinkedIn profile of CZ and a non-existent Forbes article.

In response, ChatGPT referred to publicly available information and confirmed that Changpeng Zhao was a member of the CNPC during his employment at the company in the 1990s.
When asked about the source of the information, ChatGPT claimed that it was publicly available and referred to a fake LinkedIn profile of Changpen Zhao. It further claimed that the information was also available in various news articles and interviews.
Subsequently, ChatGPT mentioned an interview of CZ with Forbes in which he talked about his previous experience with CNPC as a “Software Developer.” ChatGPT backed up its claim by pointing out the fake LinkedIn profile.
