India’s Gold romance persists: 11 straight months of ETF inflows and no sign of stopping

Indian investors continue to pile up their bets on Gold via Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), contributing to the rebound in demand for the precious metal as spot prices stabilize after Marchs sharp decline. Indias Gold ETFs extended their inflow streak to an eleventh consecutive month in April. Net inflows recorded $297.2 million, 68% more than the $176.6 million seen in March, according to data from the World Gold Council (WGC). Indian Gold ETFs have been registering inflows since May 2025, with a peak seen in January. Source: FXStreet using data from the World Gold Council. The interest of Indian investors in Gold ETFs has been persistent in the past year. Even in March, when Gold prices fell by a sharp 11%, these investment vehicles saw inflows from the country even as investors from most other geographies opted to leave. India contributed to the overall rebound in interest in Gold ETFs in April. Global physically backed Gold ETFs recorded inflows of $6.6 billion in the month, partly reversing Marchs outflows, with the largest inflows coming from the United Kingdom (UK), with $2.1 billion, the United States ($845 million) and Hong Kong ($732 million). Positive flows via ETFs are a bellwether for spot prices as investor demand

Ethereum Sees Sharp Decline In High-Leverage Long Positions — See What Happens Next

Ethereum is experiencing a notable shift in derivatives positioning as high-leverage long positions decline sharply across the market. The reduction suggests that many overly aggressive bullish trades have either been closed voluntarily or forced out through recent liquidation events. Could Ethereum Be Preparing For A Short Squeeze Next? Crypto investor and data analyst known as CW on X pointed out that Ethereum is going through a significant deleveraging phase as high-leverage long positions continue to decline significantly across the market. At the same time, short positions have increased slightly, indicating that the market is not yet heavily crowded on the bearish side. The overall scale of high-leverage exposure remains relatively low, suggesting reduced systemic risk compared to earlier phases. Furthermore, most of the greedy long positions have already been liquidated, with the next attention now shifting toward short position liquidations. Amid this market phase, Ethereum whales are showing a behavior not seen in over a year, potentially signaling a major shift in market dynamics. An analyst known as Ali Charts has revealed that since October 6, 2025, wallets holding between 1,000 and 10,000 ETH have undergone a significant regime change in their market behaviour. Before this shift, this cohort was in a steady accumulation regime.

BNB & Avalanche Hold Steady While BlockDAG Casino Goes Live, and It Is Already the Biggest Crypto Story of 2026

Crypto markets are grinding through a cautious stretch, with Avalanche near $9.27, up 0.54% in 24 hours, and buyers defending the $9.00 support zone. BNB holds around $627, backed by the BNB Foundations 35th quarterly burn, removing 1.56 million tokens worth $1.02 billion. Both are showing resilience, but neither is making a defining move. BlockDAG is a completely different story. BlockDAG Casino just went fully live, not a beta, not a soft launch, but a fully operational platform where BDAG holders spend tokens, collect rewards, and come back daily. With 13 exchange listings, confirmed Tier-1 integrations, and over 3.3 billion BlockDAG (BDAG) staked by long-term holders, this launch hands the token real, lasting utility that the market had been waiting on for months. AVAX Rebounds While Buyers Defend Crucial Market Support The Avalanche crypto price is showing early signs of a controlled recovery after several weeks of weak momentum. According to Brave New Coin, Avalanche is currently trading near $9.27, reflecting a 0.54% gain in the last 24 hours and a market capitalization close to $4 billion. The recent rebound from an intraday low near $9.05 suggests buyers are still active around the important $9.00–$9.10 support zone. Analysts believe the current trend could strengthen if

traded sideways on Friday as global markets appeared to shrug off the latest skirmishes between the U.S. military and Irans Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the Strait of Hormuz. Similarly, the latest data showing nonfarm payrolls surging by 115,000 in April failed to give the a boost as it oscillated between $80,200 and $79,200. While the stability halted a recent slide that erased gains made at the start of the week, s price action over 24 hours meant it was poised to end the workweek marginally higher. Its market capitalization remained stuck just under $1.6 trillion, a nearly 2% increase from seven days ago. Predictably, the flat price action resulted in a marked decline in leveraged positions liquidated over a 24-hour period. alone saw $28.3 million in long bets liquidated in the period, versus $14.5 million in shorts. For context, approximately $91 million in overleveraged long positions were wiped out in the preceding 24 hours, compared with $12 million in shorts. MARA Launches Consent Solicitation for Long Ridge Energy’s $600M Notes

Miami-based MARA Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: MARA) has initiated a consent solicitation to amend the terms of the $600 million 8.750% Senior Secured Notes due 2032 issued by Long Ridge Energy LLC. This move comes ahead of MARA‘s pending acquisition of Long Ridge Energy & Power LLC, part of MARA’s broader strategy to expand into high-performance computing and digital energy infrastructure. The consent solicitation, launched on May 7, 2026, seeks approval from bondholders to modify the indenture governing the notes. Key proposed amendments include removing the classification of the acquisition as a “Change of Control” event and recognizing MARA and its affiliates as permitted holders under the indenture. If approved by holders of a majority of the outstanding principal, these changes would eliminate the issuer‘s obligation to repurchase the notes at 101% of face value upon the transaction’s closing. As an incentive, MARA is offering a consent fee of $2.50 per $1,000 in principal for bondholders who agree to the amendments by the May 15, 2026, deadline. However, the payment of this fee is contingent on securing sufficient bondholder approvals and the successful completion of the acquisition, which is expected in the second half of 2026, pending regulatory clearances. The notes in question carry

Is Pi Network The Benchmark Cryptocurrency?

The post Is Pi Network The Benchmark Cryptocurrency? appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News A statement from veteran crypto participant Justin Wu is making headlines across crypto social media. Wu, known online as Hackapreneur, posted a simple but provocative take: if you have been in crypto for five years and do not hold Pi Network, you have failed. “If you are in crypto for 5 years and you dont have $PI then you are failed,” Wu wrote. The comment cuts to the heart of a growing debate inside crypto circles. Is OG status now defined by early Bitcoin and Ethereum accumulation, or has the benchmark shifted toward capturing massive retail adoption plays like Pi Networks mobile mining model? Pi Network at a Crossroads The timing of the debate matters. Pi Network is facing a critical moment with its May 15 Mainnet Upgrade deadline approaching fast. The token has dropped nearly 5% in the last 24 hours, marking its third consecutive daily loss. Bitcoin falling below $80,000 has added pressure across the board, and weak retail interest is keeping PI traders cautious going into the upgrade. The central question is whether the Mainnet upgrade will reignite momentum or simply bring more volatility to a token already struggling

How AI Became Cryptos Favorite Reason to Cut Staff

Coinbase became the latest crypto company to cut its workforce on Tuesday, as a wave of layoffs sweeps through an industry navigating a down market and the pressure to embrace AI. CEO Brian Armstrong said the company is using AI to flatten its organizational structure, with managers expected to act more like “player-coaches.” “AI is bringing a profound shift in how companies operate, and were reshaping Coinbase to lead in this new era. This is a new way of working, and we need to leverage AI across every facet of our jobs,” Armstrong said in an email to employees, also shared on X on Tuesday. Armstrongs memo outlined three sweeping changes to how Coinbase will operate. Source: Brian Armstrong Block and Crypto.com have made similar moves in recent months, citing AI-driven efficiency gains that allow leaner teams to handle what once required larger headcounts. Coinbase and Crypto.com cut about 700 and 180 employees respectively. Jack Dorseys Block handed out 4,000 pink slips in February to reduce the company to under 6,000 employees. Crypto has weathered several bear markets before, and layoffs have always followed. But this time, the companies doing the cutting are using the downturn to rebuild with AI at the center. Jobs report gives markets a reason to exhale

Wall Street was bracing for a gut punch. It got a pleasant surprise instead. Aprils nonfarm payrolls landed at 115K new jobs, nearly double the 55K that economists had penciled in. In a market climate defined by tariff anxiety and rising fuel costs, “not as bad as feared” was more than enough to spark a Friday rally across both equities and digital assets. The numbers that matter The headline figure tells most of the story. 115K jobs added in April versus consensus expectations of 55K. Thats not a blockbuster number by historical standards, but context is everything. Markets had spent the week pricing in a potential disaster scenario, and the actual data came in looking downright healthy by comparison. Unemployment held steady at 4.3%, a figure that would have seemed unremarkable six months ago but now carries extra weight. Tariff headwinds and soaring fuel costs had economists worried about cracks forming in the labor market. Those cracks didnt show up, at least not yet. The reaction across crypto was measured but positive. Bitcoin held near $80K, down a modest 0.3% over 24 hours but up 2.1% on the week. Ethereum traded around $2,300, slipping 0.8% on the day. Solana edged toward $89 with a 0.7%
