Trump Revives Fort Knox Audit Push, Wants to Knock on the Vault Door

Gold (XAU) Price Performance. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated in February 2025 that annual internal verifications confirm every bar is accounted for. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent insists, “all the gold is there,” dismissing any need to visit Fort Knox or revalue gold reserves in a sovereign wealth fund. He assures Americans that annual audits are conducted and invites any member of Congress to see for themselves. However, the last public audit involving outside observers occurred in 1974, a gap that has fueled decades of speculation. What Comes Next Trump did not announce a new inspection, formal audit, or visit timeline. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which originally floated the idea, has gone quiet. A related bill from Representative Thomas Massie also remains stalled in committee. “I just introduced HR 3795, the Gold Reserve Transparency Act of 2025, to audit U.S. gold reserves. In February, President Trump said he wanted to go to Fort Knox to ”make sure the gold is there.“ This bill provides the full disclosure President Trump seeks,” Massie stated. Renewed attention from the president could nudge gold and safe-haven markets, although no measurable price reaction followed the interview. The rhetoric becoming a physical inspection could shape the next chapter of one of Americas

Hong Kong team builds AI porter for lunar south pole

A team out of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology built a 100-kilogram rover with a humanoid torso and four wheels. It‘s headed to the moon’s south pole in 2029 on China‘s Chang’e-8 mission. The job is simple. Move gear. Once the Change-8 probe lands, the rover hauls instruments and sensors to their spots, deploys them, and grabs surface samples. Hong Kong Space Robotics and Energy Center led the build, working with 30 universities and space groups across Hong Kong, mainland China, and a few international partners. “This will be a novel demonstration of humanoid robotics on the moon and by China. We are very proud of this design,” Gao Yang, the HKUST professor who runs the center, said on April 29. Chang‘e-8 targets a different slice of the lunar south pole than Chang’e-7, which is supposed to land its own humanoid robot in the same general area. “We have heard that Change-7 is probably going to see the first humanoid robot landing on the south pole. But our robot will go to a different part of the south pole,” Gao told SCMP reporters. The south pole is huge and scientifically interesting, so Chinas covering multiple zones across both missions. Chinese lawmakers passed the countrys 15th

The handle is shown as a downward-sloping consolidation channel. Bitcoin Cup and Handle Pattern. Crypto Patel marks possible upside targets at $200,000, $300,000, and $400,000, with the main measured target near $363,142. However, Bitcoin has not confirmed the breakout yet. The price still needs to clear the upper side of the handle with strength. Until then, the setup remains a long-term pattern, not a confirmed move. The chart also marks an accumulation zone between $60,000 and

SEC Silently Announces Regulation for Prediction Markets: Breaking Down Potential Regulation Framework

Risks for tokenized products Hester Peirces recent remarks strongly imply that the SEC is getting ready for a much more open approach toward financial innovation than the market has seen in years, even though the agency has not yet formally unveiled a dedicated prediction market framework. In her most recent speech, Peirce highlighted a concept that may become crucial for cryptocurrency and prediction market platforms in the future: the SEC shouldnt arbitrarily prevent a product from entering the market if it complies with disclosure requirements, complies with current securities laws, and finds a compliant exchange listing venue. Court Approves Arbitrum DAOs $71M ETH Transfer Amid North Korea Hack

A federal judge in New York has authorized Arbitrum DAO to transfer $71 million in frozen Ether (ETH) to Aave, addressing the fallout of a North Korea-linked exploit. The decision facilitates Aaves recovery efforts while preserving legal claims from terrorism victims over the funds in question. The ruling, issued by Judge Margaret Garnett of the Southern District of New York, modifies a previous restraining notice that had locked the assets under Arbitrum DAOs control. The updated order allows Arbitrum DAO to initiate an onchain governance vote to send the funds to a wallet managed by Aave LLC. Participants in the transfer are explicitly protected from violating the freeze, ensuring legal clarity for the DAO and its delegates. However, the funds remain under potential legal scrutiny. If the court later rules in favor of the terrorism victims, the assets could still be redirected to satisfy claims tied to unpaid judgments against North Korea. DeFi Governance and the Kelp DAO Exploit The move follows a strong show of support for the transfer from Arbitrum DAO delegates, who approved it via an off-chain Snapshot vote. The proposal is part of Aaves broader strategy to address the impact of the April Kelp DAO exploit, which North Korean hackers

BlackRock looks to sidestep Clarity yield issues, filing for two new tokenized money market funds

BlackRock is accelerating its push to bring Wall Street yields to the blockchain, filing paperwork with US regulators to introduce a pair of tokenized money market funds. The move represents a major escalation in the asset management giants strategy to bridge traditional financial instruments with the rapidly expanding digital asset ecosystem. According to May 8 filings submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the worlds largest asset manager intends to issue digital shares for an existing multibillion-dollar treasury fund, alongside an entirely new vehicle tailored specifically for the crypto-native market. The dual rollout targets a growing demographic of investors who park their wealth in digital wallets and stablecoins rather than traditional brokerage accounts. It also cements BlackRocks position as a dominant infrastructure provider for the burgeoning tokenized real-world asset (RWA) sector. Nate Geraci, president of investment advisory firm NovaDius Wealth, characterized the filings as a bellwether for the broader financial industry. “You‘ll be seeing much more of this from top asset managers,” Geraci said, noting that BlackRock’s initiative would be the first of many similar strategic pivots expected from institutional heavyweights in the near future.
