Hyperliquid (HYPE) Loses $40 Threshold, Ethereum (ETH) Price Bounce Receives Boost, Shiba Inu (SHIB) Rally Struggles: Crypto Market Review

Ethereums stabilization is a question of timeShiba Inus recovered potential Despite the general stability of the cryptocurrency market, Hyperliquid shows unexpected weakness, as HYPE fell below the crucial $40 support zone. Because overall risk appetite across digital assets has not declined enough to fully justify such an aggressive pullback, the move is certainly hard to explain. After failing to sustain momentum above local highs of $44-$45 earlier this month, HYPE is currently trading close to the $39 area. Once the price lost the rising support structure that had sustained the recovery rally since March, the rejection became technically significant. HYPE/USDT Chart by TradingView The larger market context is what makes the decline unusual. Meme assets continue to draw speculative capital, Bitcoin maintains its high levels above major moving averages, and a number of altcoins are still structurally bullish. Assets like Hyperliquid, which have strong institutional narratives and ETF-related momentum, should normally outperform rather than sharply decline. Instead, HYPE began to roll over before the market exhibited significant signs of stress. XRP Price is Holding Strong Support While Bitcoin and Ethereum Drop

While the broader crypto market sentiment has turned cautious, XRP price is holding strong support around the $1.40 level. This comes at a time when Bitcoin and Ethereum have breached critical psychological and technical floors. XRP price in USD over the past weekWhats Happening to Crypto? Current market data confirms a significant shift in momentum:XRP: Maintaining stability above $1.43, successfully testing the $1.40 support zone.Bitcoin (BTC): Has officially dropped below the $80,000 mark, trading near $79,200.Ethereum (ETH): Is struggling to find footing after slipping below $2,400. Bitcoin and Ethereum price in USD For the current bullish structure to remain intact, XRP must defend its current base, while BTC and ETH need a swift recovery to prevent a localized “liquidity drain” from altcoins. Why $1.40 Matters for XRP In technical analysis, a “strong support” level is an area where buying interest consistently outweighs selling pressure. For $XRP, the $1.40 zone represents a pivot point that has transitioned from resistance to support over the last several months. Holding this level during a Bitcoin price drop suggests that XRP investors are currently less reactive to BTCs volatility, potentially due to ecosystem-specific developments or institutional accumulation. New York court pauses decision on Aave’s $71M ETH recovery request

A New York federal judge has postponed a decision on Aaves request to release $71 million in frozen Ethereum tied to the Kelp DAO exploit, ordering both sides to submit additional legal arguments before a June hearing.A New York judge delayed a ruling on Aaves bid to release $71 million in frozen ETH tied to the Kelp DAO exploit. The court asked Aave and Gerstein Harrow LLP to submit additional legal arguments before a June 5 hearing. According to filings submitted Wednesday in the Southern District of New York, Judge Margaret M. Garnett said Aave LLC had not sufficiently explained how “compounding losses” to users would occur if the restraining notice on the funds remained active. The judge scheduled another hearing for June 5 and directed both parties to file supplemental briefs by May 22. At the center of the dispute is 30,765 ETH that Arbitrums Security Council froze on April 21 after tracing the assets to the April 18 Kelp DAO exploit. The attack targeted Kelps LayerZero-powered bridge and allowed hackers to mint unbacked rsETH, which was later used as collateral on Aave v3 to borrow an estimated $230 million in wrapped ETH. Earlier reports tied the exploit to roughly $190 million in

BitGo posts wider Q1 loss despite revenue more than doubling

Digital asset infrastructure company BitGo reported a wider first-quarter net loss as Bitcoin treasury mark-to-market losses and IPO-related expenses outweighed stronger client growth and a year-over-year jump in revenue. Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 was $3.8 billion, up from $1.8 billion a year earlier, driven by higher digital asset trading activity and growing contributions from its stablecoin business, the company announced Wednesday. Revenue fell 38.7% from Q4 2025s $6.2 billion, partly due to a shift in client trading from spot to derivatives, a product BitGo launched at the start of the quarter that generated roughly $3 billion in notional volume. However, net loss widened to $60.7 million from $25.7 million in Q1 2025, hit by a $53.7 million non-cash loss tied to the declining value of the companys Bitcoin treasury, as well as stock-based compensation from its recent IPO. BitGo said stock compensation costs are expected to normalize going forward. Adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) swung to a loss of $1.7 million from a gain of $3.9 million a year ago, partly due to a $3 million in one-time legal and professional costs tied to the IPO. BitGo client base surges 42% On the platform side, client count grew

The AI reportedly assisted by analyzing backup files, identifying fixes for the btcrecover tool, and helping restore access to the dormant wallet. The AI assistant also reportedly helped decrypt private keys connected to the dormant wallet, allowing the user to finally regain access to the Bitcoin and move the funds. While the story quickly spread online with some users claiming Claude had “cracked”

US oil prices surge to $102 per barrel amid stalled Iran talks

Oil prices just blew past $100 a barrel, and the reason is familiar: geopolitics in the Middle East. US crude benchmarks surged after peace talks between the US and Iran stalled, sending traders scrambling to price in the risk of a major disruption to one of the worlds most critical oil shipping chokepoints. Brent crude futures climbed to $103.47 per barrel after President Donald Trump declared negotiations with Iran had “failed.” West Texas Intermediate, the US benchmark, wasnt far behind, rising to $105.63 per barrel. For context, oil was trading significantly lower just days earlier, when optimism around a diplomatic breakthrough briefly sent prices tumbling more than 7%. The Strait of Hormuz factor The Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula, handles roughly a fifth of the worlds daily oil consumption. The current spike follows announcements about a US blockade of maritime traffic in the region. Brent futures gained $6.81 in one session, a 7.2% jump, landing at $102.01 per barrel. Meanwhile, US crude inventories dropped by 2.3 million barrels, signaling that domestic supply is already tight. A diplomatic rollercoaster Earlier, when there were signs that US-Iran talks might produce a breakthrough, prices dropped sharply — over 7% in a single move.

Euro: Strategic autonomy and yuan challenge – Rabobank

Finance Euro: Strategic autonomy and yuan challenge – Rabobank Rabobank‘s Global Strategist Michael Every notes Europe’s evolving role in global finance as Euroclear considers accepting China onshore bonds traded in Hong Kong as collateral. Every stresses this move could support yuan internationalisation just as the EU seeks greater strategic autonomy and wider global usage of the Euro, particularly in trade commodity finance where Euro usage remains limited. Euroclear, yuan and Euro usage “Yesterday, the FT reported Euroclear, one of Europes largest financial intermediaries with over €43 trillion of assets under custody, is considering accepting China onshore bonds traded in Hong Kong as collateral, not just offshore bonds as now.” “Euroclear states this would support Beijing‘s efforts to promote yuan internationalisation to counterbalance the global dominance of the USD… at a time when the EU’s push for strategic autonomy, heightened by the Iran War energy crisis, is accentuating the need to boost global usage of the euro, not the yuan.” “That‘s particularly the case in trade commodity finance, where the single currency only accounts for around 6% of the global total in SWIFT, and even less considering more of that trade is being done on China’s CIPS system.” “Of course, Euroclear is free to do whatever it wants,
