Crypto Long & Short: What about the American consumer?

Welcome to our institutional newsletter, Crypto Long it commercializes it. For regulators, tokenized ETFs may offer a pragmatic path forward: enable innovation where investor protections remain intact, rather than pushing demand into parallel channels with greater uncertainty. For exchanges, custodians, brokers and market makers, it could create a new infrastructure layer around products investors already understand. For issuers, it may become a race. The firms that combine trusted wrappers, credible assets and functional on-chain rails could capture disproportionate flows. And for allocators, the signal may be simple: blockchain technology is becoming less about novelty and more about plumbing. That is usually when real adoption begins. The broader lesson is that distribution often beats disruption: Who already has trusted wrappers? Who already has liquidity? Who already has access to advisors, retirement assets and institutions? Who can bridge old rails and new rails fastest? Those questions point toward ETFs. The next trillion dollars of tokenized assets may not come from inventing something entirely new; they may come from upgrading what already works. Ethena soars 20%: Heres why ENA is rising and how high it can go

Ethena ($ENA) jumped nearly 20% after the Coinbase open-market token purchase news.Anchorage deal expands Ethena into institutional lending markets. The next key resistance level sits at around $0.1367. Ethenas $ENA token has recorded a sharp intraday jump of about 19.5%, pushing the price to roughly $0.1025 at press time. The sudden rebound has brought Ethena back into focus, especially as trading activity surged to more than $410 million in 24-hour volume, signalling a clear spike in market participation. While the broader trend remains down over longer timeframes, the short-term price action reflects a strong shift in sentiment tied to recent ecosystem developments. Coinbase Ventures investment in Ethena A major driver behind the latest rally is Ethenas deepening relationship with Coinbase. Coinbase Ventures made its first-ever investment in Ethena by purchasing $ENA directly on the open market, a move that immediately stood out to traders because it signalled direct alignment rather than a private funding allocation. More importantly, Coinbase is not treating Ethena as a passive investment. The two are working on a broader rollout of on-chain savings and financial products designed for Coinbases user base of more than 100 million accounts. This includes integration of Ethenas synthetic dollar ecosystem into Coinbase-linked savings products, with early initiatives expected to launch

Insurance giant WTW moves into crypto asset recovery with Redefind buy

The coverage is focused on recovery-related costs rather than traditional custodial insurance products. Redefind founders Richard Daws and Connor Edward joined Willis, WTWs broking business, following completion of the acquisition. The launch information adds that the architecture relies on Anomas Distributed Operating System (DOS) to minimize friction in institutional and corporate transactions. While residents of California, Iowa, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota are voting today in Democratic and Republican Congressional primaries, the cryptocurrency industry is more focused on the Maryland primaries later this month. According to filings with the US Federal Election Commission (FEC) as of Tuesday, the Coinbase- and Ripple-backed political action committee (PAC) Fairshake affiliate Protect Progress spent about $3 million combined to support Democratic candidates in House races across California and New Jersey. JTO up 29% as ‘Jito economy’ gains ground: Bulls struggle at $0.70

Jito [$JTO] is up about 29% in the past 24 hours, extending its weekly rally to more than 33%. The daily trading volume has jumped by more than 161.6% to around $123 million, indicating real demand. The growing momentum of the ‘Jito economy’ drives the demand, and here is how it is shaping $JTOs trajectory: ‘Jito economy’ pushing $JTOs price up? Many factors influenced the Jito economy, including staking rewards, buybacks from fees, and increased trading activity. For example, different lending and staking protocols increased the average APY from 4% to 5.58%. However, that of Bybit rose to 7.30%. This represented an 82.5% increase, framing the token as a key Solana [SOL] infrastructure play. This higher yield created a strong incentive to stake $JTO, effectively locking up supply and reducing immediate sell pressure. Source: CoinMarketCap Additionally, there was the introduction of JTX fees, which were going to $JTO holders. Several revenue lines representing the ‘Jito economy,’ including JTX and JitoSOL, influenced $JTOs buybacks. Despite $JTO getting the fee share from JTX right, its core game was still staking, not the exchange trading of perps and the Spot market. JTX needs to achieve actual volume dominance to be compared with the impact of staking rewards. This holder growth was

Crossmint enables Visa card payments for AI agents and autonomous commerce

Crossmint, a stablecoin and wallet infrastructure provider, launched an API that enables AI agents to make payments using eligible Visa credit and debit cards, bringing physical card-based transactions to agent platforms. According to Tuesdays announcement, the service uses Visa Intelligent Commerce and Basis Theorys payment infrastructure to allow AI agents to make purchases without access to users card numbers while operating within predefined spending limits. Crossmint said the payment capability is available through its lobster.cash tool, which can be connected to platforms including Claude Code, OpenClaw, Hermes and Zo Computer. Developers can immediately integrate the payment system through the companys API and documentation. Crossmint co-founder Alfonso Gómez-Jordana told Cointelegraph the companys broader payments infrastructure supports both card and stablecoin transactions. Unlike some competing systems that rely on newly issued virtual cards, he said Crossmint tokenizes users existing Visa cards, allowing customers to retain card rewards while authorizing spending by AI agents. “Developers building payment capabilities into agents have had no standardized way to handle card credentials, so many have resorted to workarounds that expose raw card numbers directly to the agent environment,” Gómez-Jordana said. He said Crossmint is also working with Mastercard and American Express to expand support for agentic card payments beyond Visa. Racing to
