BTC, ETH price news: Bitcoin, ether steady despite record stocks, falling oil and easing war fears

A convergence of record highs in global stocks, oil at multi-month lows and a tentative U.S.-Iran ceasefire extension did little to buoy bitcoin prices. The largest token is still hovering near $73,000 after sliding nearly 6% on the week as institutional buyers wait on U.S. regulatory clarity rather than macro headlines. Ether (ETH) traded just under at $2,000, down 6.4% on the week even after a 1.2% bounce on the day, while solana (SOL), XRP and each lost between 4.9% and 6.7% over the past seven days despite small gains in the past 24 hours, according to CoinDesk‘s price page. Hyperliquid’s HYPE bucked the trend, up 5.8% on the week. The macro tape, meanwhile, lit up. The MSCI All Country World Index, the broadest measure of global equities, climbed 0.3% to an all-time high, and Asian stocks rallied 2% to a record of their own, Bloomberg reported. Brent crude slipped 0.5% to about $93 a barrel and is now down more than 18% in May, its worst month since March 2020, after the U.S. and Iran reached a tentative deal to extend their ceasefire by 60 days and reopen talks on Tehrans nuclear program. The deal still needs President Donald Trump‘s signoff, and Iran’s Tasnim

Pundit Says The Clock Is Ticking For XRP, Here’s What To Know

Tech Pundit Says The Clock Is Ticking For XRP, Heres What To Know Bitcoin Ethereum News XRP has spent the better part of 2026 grinding sideways in what looks like a coiling spring, except the spring may not be loading for an upward surge. XRPs four-month consolidation has trapped its price below a major resistance zone at $1.65, and according to crypto pundit CasiTrades, the clock is ticking because XRP is now exposed to one more move into lower macro support before any stronger recovery attempt begins. Four Months Of Failure At $1.65 CasiTrades‘ analysis is based on XRP’s inability to break back above the upper boundary of its consolidation structure on the 4-hour candlestick chart. As shown on the chart below, XRP has spent several months moving inside a range with lower highs. That has created a compression pattern where the next decisive move could be important for the broader trend. The most important level in the analysis is $1.65, because this price level has acted as the ceiling of the current structure since February, and each rejection from that area has weakened the immediate bullish case. According to CasiTrades, the longer the XRP price fails to reclaim $1.65, the more likely it becomes that it needs

ServiceNow (NOW) Stock Rockets 14% on AI Innovations and Software Sector Rally

This surge follows several weeks of downward pressure on software equities. Prior to Fridays rally, NOW shares had declined nearly 29% year-to-date, reflecting market concerns about artificial intelligence potentially cannibalizing traditional enterprise software revenues. The market sentiment appears to be reversing course. During the Knowledge 2026 event, ServiceNow introduced cutting-edge generative AI capabilities, highlighted by the Otto assistant, while announcing strategic collaborations with Experian and Boomi. These revelations demonstrated how the company is integrating AI directly into its platform architecture instead of positioning it as a standalone offering. At the Jefferies Software, Internet and AI conference this week, ServiceNows COO and Chief Product Officer Amit Zavery tackled the AI disruption narrative head-on. “We don‘t want to have a non-AI and AI mindset anymore inside the company,” Zavery explained. “Our customers don’t want it. They want to be able to adopt AI as part of the same products they buy from us.” Zavery further articulated why enterprise system-of-record platforms like ServiceNow maintain critical importance in an AI-dominated landscape. “For IT managers and IT system owners, I already have all the other visibility. I dont want to go to a third-party system for only AI-related stuff,” he noted. Board Approves $4.2 Billion Repurchase; BofA Returns with Positive View The stock

Bitcoin CFTC Takes Historic Step to Approve First True US Bitcoin Perpetual Bitcoin Ethereum News CFTC Opens Historic Path for Perpetuals The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced on May 29, 2026, a historic step to bring true perpetual contracts into the U.S. regulatory framework. The action opens a path for one of s most liquid derivatives markets to trade on CFTC-registered exchanges, with BTCPERP becoming the first approved spot BTC-linked perpetual contract. The CFTC approved KalshiEX LLCs request to list BTCPERP, a spot BTC-linked perpetual futures contract, on its CFTC-registered exchange. The product is designed to trade without a fixed expiration date, a feature that has made perpetuals a dominant instrument on global platforms. The agency said the contract satisfies applicable law, agency rules, and designated contract market standards. Kalshi must operate the product under ongoing CFTC oversight. CFTC Chairman Mike Selig wrote on X: “This morning, the CFTC took historic action to permit the listing of a true perpetual contract by a CFTC-registered exchange, charting a path for one of the most liquid segments of the asset markets to exist within the US regulatory framework.” The decision positions Kalshi as the first CFTC-regulated venue authorized to list a perpetual contract. Kids Are Spending Nearly 7 To 9 Hours A Day On Screens, More Than Average Sleep Times

A new report by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Office of the Surgeon General has found that children and adolescents are spending more time than ever before on screens. Specifically, kids are spending nearly seven to nine hours a day on entertainment screens, which is often the same amount or more time than spent on sleeping, in-school or in other activities, such as exercise or engaging with peers. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. explained that “Children today spend more time on screens than sleeping, exercising, or engaging face-to-face with family and friends — and we are seeing the consequences in rising rates of anxiety, depression, obesity, and developmental challenges.” As a part of a broader effort to help curtail these ill effects, HHS has released a comprehensive advisory report on the harms of screen use and how parents can help promote healthy habits. Key takeaways from the advisory report include: that early and frequent exposure to screens may cause developmental issues and poorer language outcomes; excessive screen time may lead to poorer education outcomes and progress; mental health and behavioral declines are associated with screen time; and that screen time may severely disrupt routine sleep and

Bitcoin Whales, Dolphins Signal Bearish Outlook as Growth Stalls

Bitcoin‘s largest holders are signaling bearish conditions as both whale and dolphin cohorts show stagnation or contraction in their balance growth, according to CryptoQuant’s latest report. As of May 29, Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at $73,169, up a negligible 0.0011% in the past 24 hours, but on-chain data suggests structural demand is weakening. Whales—entities holding between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC—saw their balance growth turn negative in May, marking the fastest contraction this year. Monthly growth has also been flat since February, signaling a shift from accumulation to mild distribution, a pattern reminiscent of the 2022 bear market. Dolphins, holding between 100 and 1,000 BTC, are still growing on an annual basis but at a sharply decelerated pace. CryptoQuant notes that dolphin balances have printed lower highs since September 2025, further contributing to demand stagnation. These trends come as Bitcoin long-term holder supply hits a record 15.8 million BTC. While this may appear bullish, CryptoQuant argues it reflects a lack of new market entrants, a configuration historically associated with bearish phases. Analyst Tim Sun from HashKey Group confirmed that unrealized losses in Bitcoins supply recently approached 50%, the highest since the 2022 bear market bottom. He suggested a potential downside range of $40,000

Lummis: Next Crypto Legislation Window Is 2030

If the bill fails to clear both chambers before the end of the current congressional term, the entire legislative process will reset. Moreover, the Republicans are expected to lose the midterms, which will further complicate things. The Democrats, who have been alienated by the pro-GOP cryptocurrency industry, could push favorable crypto regulation to the back burner for years. Lummis has warned that a prolonged delay will leave developers without safe harbors and guidelines. At the same time, there will be no tools for effectively targeting and prosecuting bad actors. The current state of the much-talked-about bill The Clarity Act is, of course, the most comprehensive attempt to establish a federal framework for the American crypto industry. As of late May 2026, the bill sits at an uncertain crossroads. The legislation cleared the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan support almost a year ago. It then stalled in the Senate due to bipartisan scuffles and the frictions with the banking sector. Finally, the Senate Banking Committee recently approved an amended version of the bill in a 15–9 bipartisan vote. However, the bill has yet to receive a full floor vote in the Senate, nor has a final reconciled version between the House and Senate been put on
