Ripple, JPMorgan settle first cross-border tokenized Treasury redemption on XRP Ledger

A key piece of financial infrastructure stitching tokenized assets to traditional banking got a real cross-border test this week. Ondo Finance said Wednesday it had completed the first near-real-time cross-border redemption of a tokenized U.S. Treasury fund alongside JPMorgans blockchain platform Kinexys, payments giant Mastercard, and Ripple. The transaction settled in under five seconds on the XRP Ledger and involved OUSG, Ondos tokenized U.S. Treasury fund built for accredited investors and qualified purchasers. The pipeline started with Ondo processing the redemption on the XRP Ledger, after which Mastercard‘s Multi-Token Network routed the instructions to Kinexys, and JPMorgan delivered the U.S. dollars to Ripple’s Singapore bank account. The whole sequence happened outside traditional banking windows, the kind of cross-border settlement that typically takes one to three business days through correspondent banks. “By connecting public blockchain infrastructure with interbank settlement rails, Ondo, Kinexys by JPMorgan, Mastercard, and Ripple are laying the groundwork for 24/7 global markets that never close,” said Ondo President Ian De Bode in a statement. Markus Infanger, senior VP at RippleX, said the transaction shows institutions can run cross-border tokenized asset moves as a single integrated flow rather than stitching them together through legacy systems. The pilot lands as the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC)

The “never sell” Bitcoin treasury trade is seriously starting to crack

Bitcoin The “never sell” Bitcoin treasury trade is seriously starting to crack On Strategys May 5 earnings call, Strategy CEO Phong Le said plainly that “we will sell Bitcoin when it is advantageous to the company,” with Saylor adding that Strategy would “probably sell some Bitcoin to fund a dividend just to inoculate the market.” Strategy held 818,334 BTC as of May 3, up 22% year-to-date, with a market value of $64.14 billion. What the May 5 call established was the public normalization of BTC sales as a corporate finance lever and the quantitative framework now sitting behind it Below roughly 1.22x mNAV, management said selling BTC and paying dividends can be more accretive than issuing common equity. Saylor argued that if Bitcoin appreciates by just 2.3% annually, Strategys current reserve can fund dividends “forever,” and if Bitcoin appreciates at zero, the reserve can still support dividends for 43 years. The absolutist slogan gave way to a model in which companies that buy when accretive, issue equity when accretive, issue preferreds when accretive, and sell BTC when accretive are leveraged treasury-and-credit vehicles. Investors originally bought these companies as Bitcoin proxies built on scarcity and permanence. The 1.22x mNAV threshold and the 2.3% breakeven rate are a more

Over 54 million AMD shares exchanged hands Wednesday, substantially exceeding the three-month average daily volume of approximately 32.47 million. Nvidia stock underperforms the semicondoctur sector by the largest margin in years

The statistics illustrate how much of an impact the initial artificial intelligence (AI) boom had on Nvidias stock, which gained roughly 171% in 2024. For comparison, the shares are currently up only 10% year-to-date in 2026, while SOX has shot up more than 55% in the same period. Microsoft threatens to surpass Nvidia as the most valuable company Additional pressure on Nvidia now comes from Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL), which is closing in on Jensen Huang‘s firm in the race to become the world’s most valuable company. In comparison with Nvidia, Googles parent company has had an explosive run this year, rising around 45% since hitting the 2026 bottom at the end of March. As a result, it is approaching the top market capitalization spot for the first time in more than a decade, as it last held the position in 2016 before losing it to Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). The news shift marks a broader change in Wall Street sentiment, with Alphabet emerging not only as a leading AI platform provider through Google Cloud, but also as a potential challenger to Nvidia in AI hardware. Goldman Sachs still bullish on Nvidia Be that as it may, analysts still appear positive on Nvidia. Notably, Goldman Sachs reaffirmed its ‘Buy’ rating

Kind of Sad: Ripples Schwartz Hesitates to Share Bullish Crypto Views

Schwartzs hesitation to express optimism stems from intense scrutiny he receives whenever he discusses his personal portfolio (specifically his history of selling crypto assets). In an industry dominated by a “diamond hands” culture that shames taking profits, Schwartz has always been a vocal proponent of pragmatic risk management. The Ripple bet has defended his past decisions to sell off portions of his XRP, Bitcoin, and Ethereum, which are deemed to be rather controversial. “Everyone had the same opportunity to buy and sell XRP that I did. I did the same thing with bitcoin and ETH, and nobody seems to have a problem with that,” he explained. “I utterly reject the idea that selling is somehow morally inferior to buying and have advocated that everyone sell when its in their personal financial interest to do so.” He further noted that the rejection of self-sacrificial financial behavior was what initially attracted him to the early Bitcoin community in the first place. Schwartz has never shied away from discussing his missed windfalls. He views them merely as the cost of managing risk. He famously traded Bitcoin for 26 million XRP, only to sell a significant portion of it when the price hit $0.10. Holding millions of dollars in

The pullback came as global stock markets ripped to fresh records on U.S.-Iran ceasefire hopes, with reports indicating the two countries are working on a proposal to end the nearly 10-week conflict. The MSCI All Country World Index advanced 0.3% and MSCI‘s Asia gauge jumped 1.9% to a record, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 hitting an intraday high.
