$39B returns to crypto markets – Bitcoins macro relief rally may fade WITHOUT…

Optimism around U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio-led ceasefire talks lifted risk sentiment across crypto markets. The talks followed a reported agreement between the U.S. and Iran on a 60-day ceasefire framework. Both sides retained the option to extend it through mutual agreement. Amid the development, the total crypto market cap increased by roughly $39 billion, up 1.37%, and stabilized near $2.19 trillion. Bitcoin [BTC] reclaimed the $64,000 level at press time. Ethereum [ETH] also showed signs of recovery and traded around $1,723. However, average daily trading volume remained below normal levels at $52 billion to $55 billion. That suggested conviction remained limited despite the rebound. Are traders turning bullish? As markets recovered, traders gradually rebuilt exposure through derivatives. Open Interest stood at roughly $108 billion over the past 24 hours. The rise in Open Interest suggested participants positioned for further upside. Even so, overall sentiment remained cautious rather than aggressive. Source: CoinGlass Funding Rates stayed near neutral to slightly positive, indicating longs paid only a modest premium to maintain positions. Meanwhile, the Long/Short Ratio remained balanced, with longs at 50.35% and shorts at 49.65%. Source: CoinGlass Liquidations also eased to roughly $146 million after earlier volatility flushed weaker positions. That pointed to improving risk appetite. Even so, leverage appeared to

Solana beats Coinbase and Kraken in volume – What it means for SOLs Q3

Spot trading was once dominated by centralized exchanges. That has changed quickly as DEX adoption continues to gain momentum. According to DefiLlama, total DEX volume across all chains hit a record $1.34 trillion in Q2 2025, with Solana accounting for 25%+ of the total. The milestone further reinforces Solanas position as the leading chain for on-chain spot trading activity. Looking at the breakdown by chain, Solana continues to top the rankings. As the chart below shows, Solana‘s monthly DEX volume recently climbed to nearly $50 billion versus Ethereum’s roughly $35 billion. The gap clearly highlights Solanas growing dominance in on-chain trading, driven by strong user activity, deep liquidity, and sustained demand across its DeFi ecosystem. Source: DeFiLlama Naturally, that brings the focus back to Solanas [$SOL] DeFi setup. Here too, the trend remains constructive. Tethers $USDT supply on Solana has expanded by more than 16%, while $USDT on Ethereum has contracted by over 3% during the same period. As the largest stablecoin by market cap and a key source of on-chain liquidity, rising $USDT balances on Solana suggest fresh capital continues to flow into the ecosystem. That liquidity, in turn, helps support higher trading volumes, deeper liquidity pools, and stronger DeFi activity, reinforcing the growth in $SOLs DEX

Ethereum Price Prediction: Can ETH Reclaim $2K Before Month-End?

After finding support around $1.5K earlier this month, Ethereum has managed to stage a modest recovery. However, the asset remains positioned below critical technical barriers, and sentiment metrics indicate that buyers have not yet regained control of the market. The latter specifically shows a lack of strong institutional demand, suggesting that recovery attempts could face considerable headwinds. Ethereum Price Analysis: The Daily Chart On the daily timeframe, $ETH remains firmly inside the large descending channel that has guided price action lower for several months. The asset recently broke below the important $1.85K support area, which has now flipped into resistance. The breakdown accelerated selling pressure toward the major demand zone at roughly $1.5K. This area, coinciding with the mid-line of the channel, has successfully halted the decline so far, producing a relief bounce back toward the $1.8K region. However, the asset was rejected from the $1.8k zone, and the broader structure remains bearish as $ETH continues to trade below both the 100-day and 200-day moving averages, which are sloping downward in the $2.1K-$2.4K range. The former support zone around $2K now represents the most significant resistance cluster overhead. A recovery into that area would likely attract fresh selling interest unless accompanied by a decisive

Jake Chervinsky accuses CME of protecting derivatives monopoly

Jake Chervinsky has accused CME Group of using a lawsuit against U.S. crypto perpetual futures to protect its position in a market where the exchange reportedly controls about 92% of exchange-traded derivatives volume. According to Jake Chervinsky, chief executive of the Hyperliquid Policy Center, CMEs legal challenge against the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has exposed what he views as resistance to growing competition in the derivatives market. In a June 19 post on X, Chervinsky called CMEs lawsuit against the CFTC a “shocking miscalculation” and “an unforced error.” He wrote that the exchange had revealed itself as “a petty incumbent monopolist afraid of competition” after being viewed for years as a dominant force in U.S. derivatives markets. His comments came after CME Group sued the CFTC and Chairman Michael Selig over the regulators approval of crypto perpetual futures products in the United States. As crypto.news previously reported, CME argues the agency incorrectly classified perpetual contracts as futures instead of swaps under the framework established by the Dodd-Frank Act. The case follows the launch of regulated perpetual futures products that, according to earlier crypto.news reporting has already generated more than $1 billion in trading volume. Hyperliquid argues CME is resisting new competition In its June 18

Indias ED targets on-ramp/off-ramp firms in cross-border crypto probe

India‘s Enforcement Directorate launched a crackdown on the country’s crypto economy, saying it had quietly become unauthorized cross-border money transfer pipes. The regulator raided six premises linked to five Bengaluru-based fiat on-ramp and off-ramp platforms, allegedly conducting illegal cross-border transfers. Through its Bengaluru Zonal office, the Enforcement Directorate ransacked six premises this week under section 37 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999. ED named Transak Technology India, Carretx Technologies (Carret), Mokshagna Technologies (formerly Xpat, now Remit2Any), Buyhatke Internet (which runs Onramp.money), and Abhibha Technologies (Onmeta), as the crypto payments involved. The investigators reportedly froze approximately ₹6 crore sitting in the bank accounts they suspect were used to move the funds. Indias ED explains how perpetrators moved money Indias financial watchdog explained that the crypto payment firms used the same pattern across all platforms. A customer would deposit rupees into a company-controlled bank account, then use the money to buy virtual digital assets. The companies primarily bought USDT stablecoins, which were then sent through crypto platforms, sold over the counter, and then cash was paid out to the recipient on the other side of the border. According to ED, the five platforms bypassed laws by conducting cross-border payments without purpose codes, without Foreign

AWS Plugs Coinbase's x402 Into CloudFront, Letting Publishers Charge AI Agents in USDC

Amazon Web Services on Monday turned on AI traffic monetization inside AWS WAF, letting any site behind Amazon CloudFront charge AI agents per request in stablecoins through Coinbases x402 protocol. It is the first time a hyperscale cloud has wired onchain settlement directly into its content-delivery edge. The new capability is a first-party feature of AWS WAF Bot Control, available now at no extra charge for CloudFront customers, AWS announced on its news blog. Payment settlement and verification flow through Coinbases x402 Facilitator, with publishers able to accept USDC on Base or Solana directly to a self-managed wallet. Stripe and Machine Payments Protocol support are listed as coming soon. When a Monetize rule matches an incoming request, AWS WAF returns an HTTP 402 Payment Required response carrying a JSON price manifest with the per-page price, accepted networks, destination wallet and payment timeout. Any x402-compatible agent runtime signs the payment, the Facilitator verifies it onchain, and the content is served inside a single request cycle, with no new accounts, invoices or API keys. The launch extends a Coinbase-Amazon thread that started in May with Bedrock AgentCore Payments, which wired x402 into AWS on the agent side. CloudFront now closes the loop on the publisher

Charles Schwab to enter prediction markets with S&P 500 wagers: WSJ

Financial services giant Charles Schwab will reportedly enter the prediction markets business by offering customers wagers on the S&P 500. According to a Friday Wall Street Journal report, Charles Schwab is planning to launch options contracts allowing users to place yes-or-no wagers on the performance of the S&P 500 stock market index. The move, expected to roll out in a matter of months as part of a partnership with Cboe Global Market, could mark the companys first into prediction markets. Source: Kalshi While prediction market platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket offer a variety of event contracts based on the outcome of events, including those tied to politics, sports, weather and companies, the Charles Schwab product will reportedly only include yes-or-no bets on whether the S&P 500 closes above or below a target price. Cryptocurrency exchanges like Coinbase have also moved closer to prediction offerings with many projecting the market will reach $1 trillion in annual volume by 2030. In May, Charles Schwab announced the launch of spot Bitcoin and Ether trading for retail clients, marking the companys move deeper into digital asset services. The company reported a net income of $2.5 billion for the first quarter of 2026. Both Polymarket and Kalshi already offer similar

How Does Zcash's Halving Impact Miner Revenue and Long Term Supply?

Zcashs second halving, which occurred on November 23, 2024, at block height 2,726,400, cut the block reward from 3.125 $ZEC to 1.5625 $ZEC. For miners, that meant an immediate 50% drop in $ZEC earned per block. For the broader market, it reduced the rate at which new $ZEC enters circulation, tightening supply in a network that mirrors Bitcoins hard cap of 21 million coins. As of June 19, 2026, $ZEC trades in the range of $448 to $481, with roughly 16.7 million $ZEC in circulation out of a maximum supply of 21 million. How Does the Zcash Halving Work? Zcash launched in October 2016 as a fork of the Bitcoin codebase, inheriting its core monetary structure along with one major addition: the ability to send fully private transactions using zero-knowledge proofs called zk-SNARKs (Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Arguments of Knowledge). In simple terms, a zk-SNARK lets the network confirm a transaction is valid without revealing who sent it, who received it, or how much was transferred. Like Bitcoin, Zcash caps its total supply at 21 million coins and reduces its block reward by 50% approximately every four years. Each halving occurs at intervals of 1,680,000 blocks, with blocks produced roughly every 75 seconds. Here

Schwab to join prediction markets race with S&P 500 event-based options: WSJ

Charles Schwab is working with Cboe Global Markets to launch a new type of options contract that would allow customers to make yes-or-no wagers on the performance of the Ss first move into prediction markets, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The feature is expected to roll out to Schwab customers in the coming months, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Unlike traditional prediction market platforms such as Polymarket and Kalshi, which typically offer futures-style contracts tied to the outcome of events, Schwabs product would function more like a binary option, in which the contract would pay a fixed cash amount or expire worthless depending on whether the S&P 500 closes above or below a specified target price. Schwab and Cboe are also in talks to offer a similar product tied to a Cboe feature known as the “Plus Zone,” which would allow traders to receive a partial payout when their prediction is close to the final outcome, even if the index does not finish exactly at the target level. The companies have even discussed expanding the lineup beyond the S&P 500 to other market indexes or financial benchmarks, according to the report. Schwab, however, plans to focus on events
