Bybit Launches RLUSD Hold & Earn with Zero Maker Fees, Pushing Stablecoin Yield Competition

Bybit is trying to turn a single stablecoin into a liquidity magnet. The exchange, the worlds second-largest by trading volume, launched a limited-time $RLUSD Hold & Earn program that combines boosted annual percentage rates with zero maker fees on spot trading pairs that include the Ripple-issued stablecoin, the announcement confirmed. The move targets users who want yield on idle stablecoin balances without moving funds to DeFi protocols. $RLUSD is Ripples dollar-pegged stablecoin, which has been steadily integrated into trading infrastructure since its launch. Bybit already lists it, and the new Hold & Earn product lets users lock $RLUSD for a period to earn a boosted yield, while the simultaneous zero maker fee applies to $RLUSD spot pairs—a clear bid to attract market makers and tighten order books. The program is explicitly time-limited, though the duration was not disclosed. Competing for Stablecoin Liquidity Centralized exchanges are in a quiet but fierce race to attract stablecoin deposits. Binance, Coinbase, and Bybit each run yield programs tied to different dollar-pegged tokens. $RLUSD gives Bybit an asset that is still building liquidity, and pairing a deposit incentive with zero maker fees creates a short-term boost that can reshuffle market share. The logic is simple: liquidity draws more

Grayscale plans regular cash payouts from ETH, SOL staking rewards

Asset manager Grayscale plans to establish regular cash distributions from rewards generated by its Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL) staking exchange-traded products (ETPs), giving holders recurring access to yield generated by underlying assets. In Form 8-K filings submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Grayscale said it intends to amend the trust agreements governing the Grayscale Solana Staking ETF (GSOL) and the Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF (ETHE) around Aug. 7. The amendments would require each trust to convert staking rewards into cash no less often than quarterly and distribute net proceeds to shareholders. The framework could make staking returns more accessible to traditional investors by delivering cash rewards through broker-held products, eliminating the need for shareholders to hold crypto, pick validators and manage staking operations. However, Grayscale said distribution amounts cannot be predicted as they will depend on the staking rewards during each period and expenses deducted by the trusts. Grayscale made its first ETHE staking distribution on Jan. 5, paying shareholders about $0.08 per share from the sale of rewards. The asset manager enabled staking for its ETH and SOL products on Oct. 6, 2025, becoming the first US crypto fund issuer to add staking to spot crypto ETPs. ETHE ended

Indian Rupee gains on Middle East peace hopes

The Indian Rupee (INR) opens higher against the US Dollar on Tuesday. The USD/INR pair corrects to near 96.34 from its two-month high of 96.76 posted on Monday, as fresh hopes of de-escalation in military aggression between the United States (US) and Iran have offered support to the Indian currency. The emergence of hopes for Middle East peace has resulted in a pause in the oil price rally, a scenario that offers support to currencies from economies, such as India, which rely heavily on oil imports to meet their energy needs. In the opening trade, the MCX Crude Oil contract expiring on August 19 is marginally down to near Rs. 7,945. On Monday, the crude oil price corrected sharply after posting a fresh five-week high at Rs. 8,158. Iran was offered 10-day ceasefire proposal with US On Monday, a senior Iranian official confirmed receiving a proposal of a 10-day cessation of strikes from mediators to find ways to revive the interim deal with the US. This led to financial markets regaining confidence that negotiations between nations are still active. Earlier in the day, an Axios report also showed that US President Donald Trump will either accept the 10-day ceasefire with Iran and resume negotiations toward

Democrats added certain consumer protection rules to CLARITY: Coinbase exec

As lawmakers in the US Senate are likely to vote soon on the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, representatives from advocacy organizations and companies are providing details of closed-door negotiations over the bill, which is expected to be the most comprehensive piece of legislation affecting the crypto industry. In a Monday CNBC interview, Coinbase vice chair Ryan VanGrack said while the final negotiations over text of the CLARITY Act were taking place in the Senate, Democratic lawmakers had added additional protections for customers to give what he called “more teeth” to the legislation. He did not explicitly mention any progress on adding ethics provisions to the bill, which many Democrats said will be necessary for their votes. “[A]t the end of the day, this is about customer protections,” said VanGrack. “The status quo lacks this infrastructure, lacks these protections, and the Democrats used this opportunity, wisely, to make sure that customers were first and foremost in [this bill].” Notably, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong may have contributed to a delay for a markup of an earlier version of the bill in the Senate Banking Committee, when he announced in January that the exchange could not support the legislation as written. Strategy Skips Bitcoin Buy After $263M Share Sale

Strategy sold $263.5M in MSTR shares but made no Bitcoin purchase, keeping its holdings at 843,775 BTC and boosting cash reserves. Strategy ended another week without adding to its Bitcoin holdings despite raising fresh capital through its at-the-market share program. The company disclosed that it sold millions of MSTR shares while keeping its Bitcoin position unchanged. Its latest filing also showed a larger U.S. dollar reserve and no activity under its share repurchase plans. The update arrived through a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Strategy Raises $263.5M Through MSTR Share Sale Strategy reported that it sold 2,732,318 Class A MSTR shares between July 13 and July 19. The sales generated net proceeds of about $263.5 million through its at-the-market offering program. The SEC filing showed that none of the companys preferred stock programs recorded sales during the same period. Those programs still retain billions of dollars in remaining issuance capacity. The filing also stated that more than $23.5 billion in MSTR share issuance capacity remains available. That includes the current offering and the expanded authorization announced earlier this year. Wu Blockchain shared the filing details on X, pointing out that Strategy completed the share sale without using the proceeds to acquire more Bitcoin during the reporting week. Strategy

Trump stalls CLARITY Act as ethics dispute threatens Senate vote

The CLARITY Acts chance of becoming law in 2026 has fallen to 31% on Polymarket as the White House withholds support for a disputed ethics provision. Crypto In America reported that the White House had not approved the ethics language as of July 20, despite President Donald Trump meeting Republican senators last week to discuss the crypto market structure bill. Sources cited by the outlet also said the administration has not explained which ethical limits it would accept. Without a clear position from the White House, Senate negotiators may need more time to prepare an updated version of the legislation, according to the report. The delay could disrupt Republican plans to bring the CLARITY Act to the Senate floor before lawmakers leave Washington for their August recess. Senate Majority Leader John Thune wants to schedule a floor vote before August, but he has acknowledged that Republicans have not secured a bipartisan agreement. Under Senate rules, the party would need Democratic support to overcome procedural barriers and advance the legislation. Democrats have demanded restrictions on elected officials‘ involvement in digital assets, with their concerns focused mainly on Trump’s crypto interests. According to the presidents financial disclosure, his digital-asset ventures generated as much as $1.4 billion
