Shiba Inu lead ambassador Shytoshi Kusama quietly changed his X profile earlier in September, replacing his previous bio with a single word: “Polish.”
Now, days after the X update, which also saw his location changed to “close,” Kusama hasn't said anything, as he has not posted or interacted on X since May 13, leaving the SHIB community to interpret the brief update on its own.

Polish, as it simply implies, means improving and refining something until it is near perfection; thus, the “polish” update on X by Kusama might refer to final development work, but connecting it to Shiba Inu or an upcoming announcement would be speculative at this stage.
Kusama has very often teased what he is working on or what is coming down the pipeline through his X updates, and the Shiba Inu community is very attentive. In February 2026, Kusama shared details of his own independent project, an AI-powered relationship platform that aims to help users recognize trends, friction points, and compatibility risks. The project could be one possible context for his recent profile update, but no connection has been established.
Shiba Inu sees quiet developments
Shiba Inu remains relatively quiet, with most developments happening behind the scenes.
Long-time Shiba Inu community member Mazrael revealed an RPC update for Shibarium, noting that PR #8699 has officially been merged into ethereum-lists/chains. Chainlist is a widely used chain registry for wallets and Web3 infrastructure.
Shiba Inu token burning also continues, albeit at a quiet pace. In the last 24 hours, the daily burn rate has risen 301%, with millions of SHIB sent to dead wallets.
According to the Shibburn page, 4.37 million SHIB tokens were burned in the past day alone. In the last seven days, 133.88 million SHIB were burned.
Despite a considerable rise in the burn rate, Shiba Inu's price is trading in the red. As of this writing, SHIB was trading down 1.57% in the last 24 hours at $0.0000052, as the broader crypto market traded in losses.
