Ikhtisar:Poolin, once the world‘s largest bitcoin mining pool with an 18-20% share of global hashrate in 2019, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy alongside its U.S. affiliates Lonestar Dream and Lonestar Taproot, carrying estimated liabilities between $100 million and $500 million and roughly $173 million in debt. The Singapore-based company faced a liquidity crisis in late 2022 that left 11,700 customers with $163.7 million in frozen funds, after users reported withdrawal delays. A $52 million bid from Thor CALAP LLC for Poolin’s two West Texas mining sites represents the only meaningful recovery for creditors, as the company co-founder Kevin Pan acknowledged the liquidity problems but assured user funds were safe.
