Ethereum Shapella Upgrade is Now Live: Here is How it is Already Affecting the ETH Price

The Ethereum Shanghai Capella upgrade, also known as “Shapella,” has successfully completed. This highly anticipated upgrade is a significant milestone for the Ethereum ecosystem and marks the completion of its famous transition to a full proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. With the upgrade, users can withdraw their staked ETH, a crucial feature of the new proof-of-stake system. Withdrawals After the Upgrade The Shanghai upgrade was triggered at 22:27 GMT and finalized at about 22:42 GMT. Within half an hour after the upgrade was activated, nearly 285 withdrawals in epoch 194,408 had been processed, for about 5,413 ETH ($10 million worth). As per Coin Metrics, 1.2 million ETH tokens worth over $2.3 billion as of the current price will be available for withdrawals over the next four to five days. Notably, not all 18 million ETH staked on the network will be available for withdrawal at once, as limits have been kept on this. Ethereum will only permit 1,350 full validators to withdraw their stake each day over the next 18 months. Because each validator stakes 32 ETH, no more than 43,200 ETH—which is $83 million at current prices—can enter the market per day. Impact on ETH Price At the time the Shanghai hard fork was triggered, the

Ethereum May Head for New 2023 High After Shapella Upgrade

Ethereum developers have confirmed that the Shapella upgrade is stable. Meanwhile, ETH prices are poised to revisit an eight-month high. The long-awaited Ethereum Shapella upgrade has been deployed without a hitch. On April 13, lead developer Tim Beiko confirmed that the network was stable. A few hours ago, he kilala a few minor glitches, but all was good. “A couple missed blocks early on, likely due to the large number of BLS changes to gossip, but overall its looking stable now.” Ethereum Staking Unleashed Fears of a mass exodus of staked ETH and a flood on markets have been alleviated. Glassnode reported that an additional 2,381 validators joined the exit queue in the week preceding the Shanghai upgrade. This brought the total to 3,579 as of a few hours ago. It added that this was equivalent to 114,528 ETH withdrawn, or 0.6% of the total stake. It confirmed that not all of this will be released at once, however: “Only 57,600 ETH will be released per day as the queue regulates exit amounts.” Cumulative ETH Staking Exits Chart by glassnode On April 12, BeInCrypto reported that less than 1% of the staked ETH is likely to be sold. Coin Metrics estimated that around 1.2 million ETH could be withdrawn over

The worlds second-largest cryptocurrency Ethereum (ETH) continues to hold above the $1,900 level as developers successfully carry out the Ethereum Shanghai upgrade, also dubbed Shapella. Ethereums lead development Tim Beiko confirmed the Shanghai upgrade calling it “official”. This is a major upgrade for the Ethereum community as it allows users to withdraw their staked ETH ever since the launch of the Beacon chain. As per the details, the Shanghai upgrade was triggered at 22:27 UTC and finalized at about 22:42 UTC. Nearly 30 minutes after the activation of the Shanghai upgrade, the system processed nearly 285 withdrawals in epoch 194,408, for about 5,413 ETH ($10 million worth). According to Coin Metrics, nearly 1.2 million ETH tokens worth over $2.3 billion as of the current price are withdrawals over the next five days. Moreover, a total of $36.7 billion of Ether (ETH) has been locked for staking. During the live stream of the Shanghai upgrade, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said: “We‘re in a stage where the hardest and fastest parts of the Ethereum protocol’s transition are basically over. Very significant things still need to be done, but those very significant things can be safely done at a slower pace.” He said that post the Shanghai upgrade,

SoftBank Moves to Slash Alibaba Stake, Fueling $13 Billion Slump

(Bloomberg) — SoftBank Group Corp. is moving to sell the majority of its stake in Chinese internet giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., the Financial Times reported, the latest sign of long-time China investors lowering their exposure there. The Japanese technology investor has sold more than $7 billion in Alibaba shares this year through prepaid forward contracts, after selling $29 billion last year, according to the newspaper. The contracts give SoftBank the option to buy the shares back, but the group has settled previous deals by handing over the stock, the Financial Times reported. Pummeled by losses on its startup bets, SoftBank has said it would prioritize financial discipline before seeking the right time to go on the offensive with investments. Investors are also speculating if the company will launch another buyback program. Alibaba shares fell as much as 5.2% in Hong Kong on Thursday, erasing about $13 billion of market value. SoftBank shares were little changed in Tokyo after dropping about 8% this year through Wednesdays close. The sales will reduce the Japanese conglomerate‘s ownership of Alibaba to less than 4%, the paper said, citing its analysis of regulatory filings. That’s down from around a 14.6% stake the company said it was slated to

Worst-case scenario could see up to 1.54M ETH becoming liquid after Shanghai upgrade

Ethereum Worst-case scenario could see up to 1.54M ETH becoming liquid after Shanghai upgrade 2 minuto ang nakalipas Balita ng Ethereum ng Bitcoin Mabilis na Kumuha With Ethereum‘s Shapella upgrade due in a matter of hours, the market is ripe with speculation about its effects on ETH’s price. The Shapella upgrade is a combined name for two upgrades – the Shanghai upgrade, implementing changes to Ethereum‘s execution layer, and the Capella upgrade, implementing changes to Ethereum’s consensus layer. Among several minor upgrades to gas fees, Shapellas significance lies in its ability to allow users and validators to access their staked ETH. Validators will have two options when it comes to withdrawing their staked ETH — partial and full. Partial withdrawal The Shanghai upgrade allows validators to withdraw only a portion of their ETH stake and reduce their validator balance to the required 32 ETH. The excess balance that can be partially withdrawn is roughly 1.137 million ETH, worth around $2.1 billion at press time. This is the excess validator balance that isn‘t required to participate in Ethereum’s Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism. However, only validators with a withdrawal credential oxo1 are able to partially withdraw their stake. CryptoSlate analysis showed that this is roughly 44% of validators able to withdraw around 276,000 ETH. Validator Count:

Ethereum (ETH) expectations are high, with the upgrade just around the corner. With Shapella, Ethereum plans to upgrade the execution layer of the blockchain called Shanghai, the consensus layer called Capella Hence Shanghai + Capella = Shapella, and Engine API The upgrade would allow access to nearly 15% of the total ETH. Ethereum Shapella Upgrade Going Live Nearly $33.7 Billion worth of ETH has been staked since the last hard fork Merge, and the investors have been waiting for returns and yields ever since. All these can now be un-staked once the Shapella Upgrade goes live, but not everything will be available all at once. In a week from the upgrade, around 1.1 Million ETH worth approx $2 Billion would be available for grasp. The rest will be made available from May 2023 in a distributed and sequential manner, thereby reducing the withdrawal pressure on the network. They also incorporate certain security measures to ensure malicious actors cannot exploit the increased traffic and that investors are safe while un-staking their rewards. According to

Crypto hedge founder says sell pressure projections on Ethereum are too high

crypto Ethereum Sinasabi ng tagapagtatag ng Crypto hedge na masyadong mataas ang sell pressure projection sa Ethereum 13 minuto ang nakalipas Balita ng Ethereum ng Bitcoin North Rock Digital‘s founder Hal Press said Ethereum (ETH) selling pressure wouldn’t be as high as many predicted after the Shapella upgrade. Sa isang Abril 12 tiriritPress explained that available data suggests that “most selling projections were too high and the selling will not be as strong as anticipated.” According to Press, only 4,000 Ethereum validators have voluntarily exited the validator pool. Of this number, 1600 are individual stakers and are most likely to sell. Press said: “Of this 1600 I estimate conservatively that 50% will sell and 50% will reallocate somewhere else (liquid staking didn‘t exist when they started staking). This leaves 800 validators likely to sell, that’s 25,000 ETH. Plus another 50-60k on withdrawals so ~85k ETH total.” Press noted that even if his predictions were three times low, only 250,000 ETH would be available for sale after the unlocking. According to him, this number is “quite insignificant” considering the overall supply. With the Shappella upgrade scheduled for later today, several analysts had predicted that the token unlocks could increase the selling pressure on ETH. Analytical firms predict less selling pressure Blockchain analytical firm

The Ethereum Upgrade is Now Imminent – Trustnodes

Ethereum Ang Ethereum Upgrade ay Malapit na Ngayon – Trustnodes 1 minuto ang nakalipas Balita ng Ethereum ng Bitcoin One of the biggest upgrade of the ethereum network in seven months is to go out in just hours according to estimates of Shapella activation. Shapella, standing for Shanghai and Capella, is to upgrade the Beacon chain and the execution layer to primarily unlock the staking eth. That brings the transition to full Proof of Stake (PoS) to its final stage some eight years since plans were announced for this development. As the unlock of eth might bring new circulating supply to market, it is a big event for traders too who have been speculating for months just how the unlock may affect prices. About 15% of eths supply is currently staking, though some expect only 170,000 eth out of that ◊18 million will be withdrawn. Currently there are 4,000 validators who have already exited. At 32 eth each, that makes it ◊128,000 who have already joined the queue to withdraw, worth about $250 million. Whether that‘s the end of it is to be seen as ethereum’s staking amount becomes volatile, rather than only up as it has been so far. Yet, the unlock may allow for the actual re-pricing of eths
