SBI Holdings has invested $270 million in Ajaib Group, a company based in Indonesia, which accounts for approximately 20% of the group. The agreement reinforces SBIs presence in the fast-growing digital asset space in Asia. It also gives Ajaib greater financial backing as it broadens access to investments and digital assets.

Expanding Digital Asset Reach

Ajaib now joins SBI‘s growing network across Asia’s financial technology sector. The Indonesian platform offers stocks, bonds, funds, ETFs, commodities, foreign exchange, and crypto assets.

Additionally, Ajaib provides stablecoins and OTC settlement services for companies and institutional investors. Consequently, the partnership could connect more Indonesian investors with SBIs broader digital asset ecosystem.

The investment also ranks among Indonesias largest technology funding rounds since 2022. Moreover, Ajaib has raised more than $500 million since launching in 2019.

Building a Regional Network

SBI aims to strengthen its Southeast Asian presence through its APAC Digital Economic Zone strategy. In addition to Ajaib, SBI also has crypto platforms in Japan and Singapore.

The group also has a global crypto market maker called B2C2 and several blockchain projects under its wings. These are the stable coin JPYSC yen and financial blockchain Strium.
