Canadian residents seeking to register on BitMEX for the first time on or after 1 June 2023 will not be permitted to register or trade on BitMEX and any such attempt to do so will be a breach of our Terms of Service. Open positions for existing customers will continue in accordance with the terms of the relevant contract. From 1 July 2023 existing customers resident in Canada will not be able to open new positions or increase position size. They will be able to deposit, close out open positions and withdraw. On 1 August 2023, any unfilled orders will be cancelled and any open positions will be force-closed. As a result, we encourage Canadian-resident customers to close all positions as soon as possible before then. The restrictions are mandated by the British Columbia Securities Commission acting on behalf of the Canadian Securities Administrators . We support the efforts of regulators to help establish standards for cryptocurrency products that will underpin the advancement of this rapidly growing asset class.
